Uneven teams in Matchmaking?

I've made 3 team matches so far and 2 of those times, It's been a 3 on 1. This isn't intentional is it?

It sounds like you're not communicating with the other players via a chat or something. To get accurate teams, make sure the other players turn on the 'team-battle' option as well, and choose the correct colors to have even 2v2 teams with their partner. If the other players don't have teams on when you do, I believe their colors are chosen randomly from whatever color you've selected.
