Anna had already woken up much earlier, she loved seeing the sun rise and despite what she expected before she went to bed the armchair wasn't entirely uncomfortable to sleep in. The curtains were pulled darkening the room, so she stepped quietly towards the window and opened the windows a fresh smell of morning freshness stirred in the room. Tekun stirred, "Anna?" he said, she turned around. Unconsciously pushing her magical spectacles up the bridge of her nose. "Good morning" she said softly "Do you feel much more rested today?"

-------

Tania barely got a wink of sleep that night, she knew that Rana had not gone to sleep she had heard him pace outside her door, well it was more like she sensed him but she still knew it was him. She would have went out to force him to get some rest but he probably had some mysterious reason for staying up. She heard a whinny and the rustle of feathers as Windy woke up, the innkeepers had given her a room suitable for her and her mount. Tania got up her nightgown swishing across the floor and pet Windy's head, whose ears flickered contently at the touch. It was times like this when all felt good in the world that she was glad she was brought back to life. A letter to her father lay on the desk that she had written the previous night, hopefully when they were leaving today she'd be able to give it to a mail carrier. She changed into a pale yellow dress and then proceeded to wash her face. Afterwards she opened the door slightly to see if Rana was still outside.

-------

Violet laughed, their nighttime walnut adventure had been quite interesting, even if it did seem like it was all a dream. She did remember that it did take quite an effort to go into a town, after her last venture inside a building she had found them untrustworthy, but of course Lex had managed to charm her into the town. She felt slightly wary of the gift that he had, but with Adélaïde and Leon around she felt safer. "So...Where do we roam now?" asked Violet after the display of Adélaïde's control over Lex, which caused her to giggle again.

The bartender laughed at the muscular pirate. "You really have the money for a Keg?" He asked chuckling. "You look pretty broke." Other's in the area looked at J who had barged in and slammed his weapon down.

------------

"Not really." Tekun said as he stopped rubbing his eyes and notied Anna's spectacles. "You really shouldn't have those on all the time, you may see something you may not want to see with such a device."
------------------

Leon didn't chuckle, that adventure was more of an oddesey to him, definently different, not something he would want to do again, what was odder to him was the hats. He just shook his head and looked at the ground for a moment. He often wondered if he was the only sane one.

"There's a town upahead, we can either continue past it and head into the East, and actually reach a true city, or stop here and rest before continuing off into the the East, your choice.

Rana shivered. The hallway was cold and it had been dark for hours. His eyes were closed and he was bunched up against the wall. He could feel almost everyone in the inn sleeping. Tania was asleep. The man he suspected had left the building nearly an hour ago. Rana went to hug his legs and sleep, but something stabbed his leg. He twitched and thrust his hand into his robe, pulling out the crown from earlier. Shadows pulsed around his tired body. He sighed, wondering what the point of the thing was.

The crown felt warm in his hands as he turned it over and over. He slipped it over his wrist and felt a kind of prickle up his back. After a minute of playing with it, he mumbled something and tried placing it on his head. As he did the metal heated suddenly, spreading through his body. He twitched violently, his arm flying from the makeshift sling and hitting the wall hard. He whimpered in pain and shock as he shook, his body contorting... Then it stopped. The warmth receded and the crown fell, heavy and cold from his head.

Rana was breathing heavily. He reached up and touched his lip. His face felt strange. He looked at his arm on the ground. It had stopped bleeding. He moved it, finding it perfectly healed. He suddenly reached around and felt his back. No scars were his back had torn open. He pulled his cloak back over himself, deeply disturbed. He closed his eyes again and breathed deeply. Even his breath felt stronger, he noted. He reached out and touched the crown, pulling it towards himself. He picked it up, studying its patterns, then looked away. The crown quivered and began to lose color as shadows clung to it, pulling it apart silently. It faded from existence as Rana faded quickly into sleep, feeling healthy and sturdy.

The next morning Rana awoke feeling odd again. He stood slowly, wearily. He approached Tania's door carefully, and stopped outside of it. He wouldn't intrude on her. He leant against the wall by her door, feeling where his arm has been damaged by the table. After a moment the door opened a crack. There was Tania, wearing a yellow dress. He smiled a tiny bit. Everything felt clearer. Everything felt sharper. Tania's mind was there, shimmering in the muck and slime that was caked around the inn.

"Morning..." Rana said, louder than he usually spoke. He wasn't sure if he had ever felt so elated.

Rana felt stronger, more skilled then he had before in the dark arts, as if he had more control, he no longer felt as weak as he usually did, a bit stronger, but not by much, but enough so that he wasn't as brittle. He was more confident now in what he could do.

Tania found herself staring at Rana for a few seconds after he said his hello, he seemed different, very different. His very voice sounded more different, his composure, everything about him seemed more...different. He even seemed to be emitting a different energy than before. She found it very attractive and then blushed realizing that it was very impolite for someone to stare as she was doing at the moment. She smoothed out invisible wrinkles on her dress looking down at it praying her face would resume to a more ladylike complexion. "G-Good morning" she said cheerfully raising her head once she felt more calm. "You look rested" which she found a bit odd since she knew he had been outside her room the entire night.

-----

Anna looked down at her feet "Oh-Oh it's alright. I like the glasses the way they are" she said in her usual shy manner. "I wonder if your friends have woken up yet" she shuffled her feet on the wooden floor.

------

Violet glanced sideways at Leon at the mention of another town. "Well I guess we could....but I don't really care" she had somewhat grown accustomed to the "town life" even though she was usually more of a drifter than a stay in a building person.

J threw his large money pouch upon the counter. "Don't judge a book by its cover." He muttered, "Now, how about a keg? I'm sure I do have enough money in that pouch, you want to check?" He untied the bandanna from around his head and placed it on the counter before him. It was still stained with some blood from earlier, but he ignored it.

Euphemia looked around and noticed the guard from the day before standing around. She walked towards him. "Excuse me, but could you tell me where the bars are? I'm looking for a friend of mine, and I'm sure he'd be sitting in one." she asked pleasantly. While she was around him, she relaxed the grip on her knife, but still held it in the case of an unwelcome encounter.

Lex threw Adélaïde at the nearest building and laughed. "Cramp the heart strings, love!" He then bounded into the newly made hole in the wall. Screams and crashes were heard from inside the house. He had apparently imposed on someone's midday brunch. After several minutes of ruckus, both Adélaïde and Lex emerged unscathed. They went back to their previous positions and acted as if nothing had happened.

"So, shall we enter this quaint town, or what?" He smiled strangely.

Rana watched Tania carefully. His voice softened. "I feel rested." The sparkle in his eyes faded a little as he spoke. "Did you sleep well?" He asked, his thoughts wondering to the others. If they weren't prepared to leave the inn by midday he doubted he would wait for anyone but Tania. He was sick of the Inn and its ill company.

Leon's jaw dropped. "Your both insane. You can't just put holes through people's walls!" He sighed. "Let's spend sometime here, and get going, depending on how rested everyone is."
-------

The bartender noticed the blood, but cared not where it came from. "You got it." he retorted and went in the back barreled out a keg. "I'll just pocket half of this and we'll call it even."

"You want the bar then." He said pointing to the tavern. "You can relax the grip on your knife too. So nervous, you did it the other day. Worst we have here is the occassional drunk skirmish. Pirates know fullwell this is one of three port towns on this side of the continent. They wouldn't dare screw em up."
--------------

"Probably." Tekun replied. "Will you be coming with us?" He asked her. "Or will you be staying here at the inn yet?

J gripped the keg and began to pour some in his mouth. "Weaker than the last keg I had..." he thought, remembering the last time he had a drink. It was the strongest beer he had tried to drink, and he wasn't able to finish much before he was flat out drunk. He placed the keg upon the counter and took some deep breaths. It wasn't that bad even though it was weak.

Euphemia walked in the direction of the tavern, pushing the door open. As she peered inside, she saw the simple sights it held, men and women drinking and eating. She gazed near the front where she saw a man with huge muscles drinking a keg of beer. A mallet lay beside his stool. She ran towards him. "JAY!" she shouted eagerly.

J turned around, noticing Euphemia and squeezing her with a hug. "Oh well, if it isn't my little cousin!" He roared out, glancing down at the linen-wrapped sword she held next to her chest. "I see you're close to the sword I sent you." he remarked.

Serene opened her eyes, and rolled over in the bed. Her eyes moved around the room, until she saw Eton dressed. She gave out a faint smile, and pulled the covers over her body. "It's cold in here." she muttered, hiding under them.

"Maybe it's just you." Eton chuckled. "You might want to put on some clothing." He looked out a window that was nearby. "Morning already." he muttered.

Serene rolled over in bed again. "I don't know why, but I don't feel like getting up, it's kinda cozy laying here." She answered, smiling at him. "Where are we going to be headed to anyway? Are we in any rush?"
__________

"You have to tell me what has been going on with you lately Jay, I'm eager to know how the old bandit is doing these days." Euphemia told J, laughing.

J led her towards the counter, and they sat down, reminiscing on past meetings.
"You see, I've been in a rut lately, can't find any good jobs. The last kids I escorted ditched me when we reached town. They split up, and I didn't know who had the money." J began to tell. "Then I latched up upon this caravan I happened to pass by. The old geezer's daughter is pretty fine."

Euphemia laughed at his remark. "What's with you and looking for women everywhere you go anyway?"

Rourky stared around the bar, eying the booths often. He wasn't too sure of the crowd in this place.

Nechis awoke, just past the stroke of dawn. Rays of light flooded into the room, settling softly on the furniture placed neatly around the dormitory. The man quietly stood up, locating his boots with relative ease. Donning the leather footwear, he began to silently step across the wood paneling, producing not a creak as he turned the knob. A deep throb resounded with each step. He had retreated back to his room, after the startling scream had been heard, but he wasn't sure of the time he had fallen asleep. The headache only seemed to worsen as he heard talking from another room, but he couldn't quite pinpoint the location. Holding his head, Nechis slumped against the hallway wall, quietly hoping that nothing important had happened the night before without him. A grave feeling rested in his heart, however, and he knew things weren't quite right. The man continued to scan the hall for any detection of the other residents.
