It's cool that Sakurai's showing us some pokémon now too. Bar Palkia there aren't any confirmed (since we still don't know what Xerneas' role is).

Did Marth's sword get back to Melee length? If his leg ends where I think it does in that shot, it looks like the blade runs the entire length of his leg again rather than up to the middle of his thigh like in Brawl.

I checked measurements in MSPaint, and it looks to be true enough.

Instead, how bout dat Chrom? Anyone expecting a third Blue-haired Fire Emblem protagonist to hit the new Smash? I know he has Aether like Ike does, but Ike performs the "Sol" process of the attack (so a possible attack renaming on Ike's part if he returns?). I could definitely see Chrom's Aether being different, possibly NOT a recovery. And he also has a double hit, something I can see being similar to Marth, but with only two strikes that start out as a quick hit followed up by either a sweep, rising upper, or stronger straight, possible a stab. And perhaps something that's ot a counter for his B-down?

And while I'm rambling, having him change weapons (maybe from his original to Exalt version) as a variant mechanic. Possible heavier attacks at the sacrifice of speed.

Yeah... kinda spitballing it here. Howzit sound, at any rate?

While we're talking about FE I hope to see Ike back. I mean Lucario and Tink came back and they were "guaranteed cuts" at one point in time.

Yeah. It's kinda why I won't shut up about the "no Brawl roster cuts" policy every time an obvious or not-so-obvious fighter is revealed. And with Toon Link, thank goodness he got his own art style this time.

I hope Ike returns as well. I have my fair share of hated characters in the smash history (OLIMAR), but some fighters I hate because I know I can beat them and just get caught out with their attacks often. In Ike's case, I ALWAYS underestimate the length of his sword.

But with people clamoring for Lyndis and Chrom's recency, I can see one making it and not the other. And any loss on either side would be sad. They both have potential to be fantastic sword wielders in the game.

Isn't Dedenne's attack taken from Plusle/Minun's from the Ranger games?
Didn't play XY, so it might be there to. Nice touch, though.


Anyway, I wouldn't mind Chrom switching between swords and spears. It would definitely make him pretty unique, even if he would play different from Marth to begin with.

Genuinely would prefer Lucina over Chrom

Not because of movesets or anything - they fight the same way anyway - just because it'd stop people from whining about wanting a female Fire Emblem character

You can argue that she is (was?) a walking spoiler, but the Mother 3 trophies in Brawl already show that they don't give a f*** about spoilers

People say they'd rather have Lyn as a female Fire Emblem character but that's only really because she's from the first English released game

Would prefer Robin over either, just because I'm not sure how different Chrom or Lucy would feel compared to Marth
