This show really is the last thing I think of when I think of magical girl.
"Madoka Kaname is an Ordinary Middle School Student with a working mother, a stay-at-home dad and a close circle of friends. Other than a strange dream about a black-haired girl fighting off a huge monster in a ruined city, her life is a peaceful one. Then, one day, that black-haired girl, Homura Akemi, transfers to their class.
Things begin to change when, after school, Madoka hears someone's voice calling out to her. This voice belongs to Kyubey, a small ferret-like creature. She and her best friend, Sayaka Miki, then find themselves in a bizarre dream world where they witness an upperclassman, Mami Tomoe, transform into a magical girl and save them from otherwordly monsters. Kyubey then asks Madoka and Sayaka to become magical girls, too..."
It starts off with what you would normally expect from a girl show. They fight some demons, slay some witches, save some people, ect. Then episode 3 happens...

I know! I can't take this delay any longer, as soon as it is light, I am calling my friend and ordering the whole BD collection. It'll set me back maybe 10k but I don't need to eat that much.

But it's truly the most kindest character ever. Granted, people go suicidal and girls turn into liches so it can do what it does, but it's all for the universe.

But man, this show had some serious whiplash. I came in expecting the traditional upbeat and cheerful "Everything is better with magic. Fight for love and peace" magical girl plot. The show just slapped me in the face. It reminds me of Higurashi with the "reset to reach the path where everyone doesn't die" thing going on.Yep. He's a cute little cannibal isn't he. He loves sucking out people's souls, turning their bodies into hollow shells, and driving people to suicide. I just want to cuddle with him forever...
