Use every tank you got to block the south area. Send some strong magic units and a wyvern/pegasus knight(thinking Tana/Cormag) to the top(make sure one of them has a Fili shield).
Defend like crazy with your tanks, and always keep your healers armed. Oh, and I hope you overleveled Ephraim: he's incredibly useful here.

EDIT: Or you could try to rush Riev and beat him with your (hopefully) sage Lute. By now you should have Excalibur so just crush him with that. Your choice.

I have Cormag at top, with a Fili shield yes. I didn't overlevel Ephraim unfortunately, he's about 17 I think? I'll try your tank tactic though, and yes my Sage Lute has excalibur. I only have one healer though (Save Lute who I can just give a heal or a mend)

Also, Severa can practically inherit Galeforce, she's like one of the few kids who can do that... and that makes her amazing.



Also, my easiest run of FE8 was a Seth solo.
It's literally easier to just use Seth and run through the game in 4 hours then to try to play the game with a bunch of units.

Half of my kids have Galeforce, really... Lucina, Owain, Inigo, Severa, Brady, Cynthia, Morgan. If I really wanted and prepared well, I could have given Nah, Kjelle, and Noire it as well. Kinda wish more of them had Armsthrift, though... I'm relying on Inigo too much because his weapons won't break.

Through the arena on chapter 6 she went form lv 4 to lv 20 then I turned her into a sage (alongside Joshua and neimi). Chapter 7 to 18 was finished mostly by Lute herself.
Sages are sweetly way too much OP in FE

AS for how many kids one can have that have galeforce.
Well, I'm going under the assumption you grinded to hell and back, because galeforce is very impractical for all children that aren't Morgan, Severa, Cynthia, and (arguably) Lucina (On a run where I only played each DLC once, Lucina barely was able to inherit that broken skill and all its glory. I'd say on a play without any grinding or DLC, you aren't getting Galeforce Lucina, so practicality is based entirely on whether or not you find DLC fair game)

The only children that can't have galeforce are Laurent (so average), Ball of Yarne (same, although makes a decent berserker), and Gerome (who if his father is Vaike, has monstrous strength).


Anyway, probably not much use using eugenics until the harder DLCs what with RNG Goddess Anna with capped stats, Vantage+, Dragonskin, Aether, Rightful God, and I think Luna+ for giggles..


Ewan not being Marisa's sibling aside, Matthis did it first. He wasn't even that good, at least Ewan can be a second sorcerer or use all magic on a second playthrough.

Ok I cannot f*** beat chapter 11 of awakening without Ricken, Virion, or Lon'qu dying. Is there any particular strategy you guys used? I've been trying to go down the right but that doesn't seem to be working, so is the left better?

I advise if you have Chrom promoted, use that arm seals you get in the sidequest with Anna to give him a javelin, pair him up with an A or S support and watch mages die on enemy phase for the first two turns, then have other units back up in the sweeping.
