I'd get the hell out of my house, run for the car, and start speeding to the nearest heavily populated area, trying to make the biggest scene possible and ignoring traffic laws. From there, either:
A. Police will pull me over for massively breaking traffic laws. I'll then tell the police of the munderer, who will undoubtly follow me once he sees me get out of my house. Police handle the rest.
B. If I do manage to make it to such a heavily populated area, I can park somewhere where there are many people and just follow them. If the murder's smart, he won't strike, but if he does, seeing as all the murderer has is a knife, he'll probably only take the life of one person - hopefully not me! - and he'll cause quite a commotion.

I put on my robe and wizard cap.

Ten minutes? I wouldn't be lazy and I just go walk home. I would run home to get there faster. Personally, I don't physically get tired easily.

Don't worry, I got money to use a public phone to call a taxi or can ask some stranger in a car to send me there while I give him money for the help. Otherwise, go to a shop and buy a new battery for my phone. Seems to be a bit simple.
