i'm not really wowed by any of them to be honest

the pokemon x and y ones look kind of cool but i wouldn't really want to buy one over just the standard 3ds

I have the all black XL with an ace attorney hard case on the outside so I'm happy. smash design suuucks.

Do you prefer the standard 3ds over the XL in general?

yeah mostly because i'm used to how it feels. when i tried the xl for the first time it felt a bit too unnatural for me

if i wanted to buy an xl though, i'd probably just buy the standard one

the screens on the XL arguably (as in, not an argument i want to have) look worse than the originals anyway

I thought that too at first, but the larger screen makes some games look a lot better imo. Zelda OoT and Luigi's mansion looks great on the XL.

It's just preference, they're both great. It kinda sucks that I can't put the XL in my pocket. (it fits, but I don't wanna put to much pressure on the screen) I like the bigger screens though. The one thing that bugs me about it is the s*** speakers. For some reason the XL has worse speakers.

Here's my point on the special designs: The only one I like is LBW and I'll tell you why

It seems to me like the correct way to do a design on the back of the top screen is to have it upside down. Look at the Smash one, for example. The only time you'll see that image correctly is when you're not playing the system, and only you personally will see it normally. Wouldn't it make more sense to be visible from behind? It shows the design off better when you're playing it, and it doesn't make it any more difficult to show while it's not in use, since you can just flip it around.

I realize there's a reason for the LBW Triforce being upside down.

As for me it does seem a bit too soon for an upgrade like this but it's a hella cool one.
Fixed 3D, clearer resolution screen, new Z buttons, c-stick, swappable themes, micro sd (who uses those), direct Amiibo connection through touch screen,
I'm definitely gonna upgrade to the new XL when they launch next year. Yes, nintendo of america said "sometime next year". God dammit.

Do you guys think that since they're being sold at the same price as the current ones in japan, that maybe they're gonna slowly push the old ones away and only focus on the new ones? That's what it seems like to me kinda.
