I usually cash in on those jokes as early as I can, but actually...
Melee added a super-retro character, Game and Watch. Brawl added ROB, at that point considered retro (if not for his design). Anyone expecting another Nintendo OG to be added to the mix, and perhaps G&W or ROB to be dropped? I'm hoping for another throwback character, but I'm not betting on any roster drops, but I know other people are. If they introduce him as I think they will (given he makes it, which IMO a long shot), be might be able to be modernized. Like the Ice Climbers and Pit, even though he was early and appeared on the NES (Pit has a Gameboy Game, but I'm like the only guy I know IRL that has even heard of Of Myths and Monsters, let alone played it), he can still be made to look like he's recent. ROB could look like that to an extent, but they were pretty loyal to his original design. People who don't know who Takamaru is will be surprised that he was NES only. I still want him, tho.
