The place where the two combatants met was once a place of great glory and blood, where gladiators fought animals and their fellow man to the death. Even as the great Roman Empire, the structure remained standing. However, time took it's toll, and at the time of this meeting, time had ravaged the rock of this once proud arena down to a battered ruin.

The arena measured around fifty metres long, twenty metres wide. The ground had long ago been eroded down to just earth, with no vegetation to be seen. The scene was fitting for the fight which was about to take place...

Jacobs gate opened, him stepping outside of the damp cave-like jail and into the rocky terrian where he would battle. "Gah, I can't believe I might get kicked out of the tournament early..." He paused. "Wait, no I won't." He said, being his c*** self. Jacob looked around, noting that the area was completely flat, but also how easily dust could be kicked up. He wondered what his opponent would be like, if he would be srong or weak, fast or strong, but mostly what weaponry he used. The places dusty smell told him that the boundries of the colosseum were made of easily breakable rock, he thought that this could be of use to him. Finally, he was satisfied with his study of the battlfield, so he patiently waited for his opponent.

Klaus stepped slightly outward from a pillar amongst the ruin, being careful to not let his opponent see him. He eyed the arena from his vantage point, seeing it's properties, and decided that it would provide ample cover should his opponent fire any projectiles at him. His opponent seemed the c*** type, the smug grin on his face indicated that he was confident about the fight to come. He stood out starkly against the landscape, his green mohawk a stark contrast against the bleak ruins. An easy target, thought Klaus to himself. He drew his Glock, loading his cartridge with a soft click. He lined the tip of his barrel up with his opponent's head, and three shots in succession, smiling cruelly as he did so.

Hearing a clicking sound, Jacob turned his head to see his opponent about to fire a gun. Not by any means having time to study him, he quickly moved out of the way of the guns aim, dodging three bullets by the skin of his teeth.
As he regained his posture, he quickly mumbled "Blade armor" as a light-blue aura surrounded him.
Knowing his opponent would fire again as soon as he could, he had to react fast. He aimed at the opponents gun quickly and snapped with much force, creating a small fast-moving fireball. Knowing that the gunpowder would explode when touched by fire, his opponents gun would be un-usable unless he moved it. But as it was easy to move ones hand, it probably wouldn't do anything. So he quickly started running towardshis opponent, knowing that he wouldent fire his gun untill the fireball had passed.

Klaus was rather disappointed. Normally, that tactic would work, but this one seemed to have good hearing. What's more, he responded with a fireball. Klaus drew back behind his pillar well before the fireball hit. He had a tactical mind; firing the gun would be pointless again, he'd just get himself cut to ribbons. So he drew his machete, and waited, crouching.

OOC: How the heck does your character know that i'm sharp now...? But whatever...

BIC: Jacob saw his opponent go back behind the pillar, having not studied his opponent thouroughly he didn't know he had a machete. But suddenly remembering the breakability of the stone here, he jumped and spun mid-air with his leg sticking out, successfully cutting the pillar in half and knocking it toward his unsuspecting opponent by (while still in air) ramming into it with his back... Of course this hurt his back. And when he landed it would probably take a few seconds to regain his posture.

OOC: It's tactics. After you attack, you start to move forward. He doesn't know you're sharp, he just realises you would be moving forward.

(Back in context, now).

From behind him, Klaus heard a sharp crack, followed by a deep groaning. Alarmed, he ran like a flighted deer, and just in time it seemed. The pillar crashed down to where he had been a mere two seconds ago, heavily settling into the earth.
He saw his opponent standing further away, doubled over. Recovering from his shock, he sheathed his machete and drew a throwing knife from his belt. He threw the knife bewilderingly at his opponent, his arm still shaky from the force of the rock.

OOC: Still, you said "cut to ribbons", my character has no blades but his body...

BIC: Landing back on the ground groaning, he sighed and attempted to get up, only to see a poorly aimed (well, you DID say his arm was shaking) throwing knife coming in his direction. He acted by instinct, moving his forearm in front of the knife and causing it to deflect upwards, creating a few sparks in the process. He caught the knife on its way down (a rather hard thing to do while in a sitting position), slowly getting up with a sadistic look on his face- a look often accompanying him when he was holding a sharp object. He started menacingly walking towards his oponent, only to quickly mumble "Blade runner" as he was so fond of doing (it had become a habit of his to say the name of his attack before preforming it) and become slightly skinnier and narrower. He then began to run at his opponent at unhuman speeds (not The Flash or Sonic fast, mind you).

Klaus was bewildered. Somehow, his blade had deflected off this strange person's arm. Judging from the sparks, it seemed his knives would be useless from here on out. He doubted the machete would work either. As he saw his opponent running toward him at what would be faster than any human ever could, he reacted speedily. He drew his Glock, and crouched, coiled like a spring, ready to move at any given moment.

Jacob frowned, knowing that although he could probably still cut one of his opponents arms or legs off, he would probably be shot in the face afterwards. He skidded to a stop, spinning his leg around him and kicking up dust- alot of it, There was practically a cloud of it around him now. he quickly drew the chain off of his arm and muttered "Armor spread." and retreated to behind the dust, just before returning to his more durable form.

Klaus saw him skid to a halt, kicking up a large cloud of dust at the same time. He stood back up, thinking of what to do next. At a loss, he decided that the only option he had was to sit and wait. All the same, he aimed at where he guessed his opponent would be, and fired off three shots into the cloud where his opponent was hiding.

Jacob heard bullets fired and tried to dodge, But it was too late, two of three bullets had lodged themselves into his left arm, that wasn't going to move for the rest of the fight. He was succesful in not making any noise despite his pain, and couldn't help but smirk as his left arm took the chain, realizing that his opponent would most likely have to reload now. He swiftly moved to the left side of the dustcloud that was JUST beginning to fade, and quickly whipped at his opponents arm with his now bladelike chain, still trying to ignore the searing pain that the bullets imbedded into his forearm were bringing.

As his opponent emerged from the dust cloud, Klaus briefly noticed two bloody holes in his opponents left arm. A satisfied smile crept to his face. He didn't have time to relish the victory, however, as his opponent flicked what seemed to be some kind of chain, without warning, toward him. Klaus was unready for this action, as it all happened so speedily, and the chain caught him just below the ribs. He toppled backward and fell to the ground. Ignoring the bleeding, he quickly scrambled back to his feet and faced his opponent again, gun at the ready.

Jacob frowned, he hated guns and most long-ranged weaponry, as he was more of a close-range fighter. He quickly switched hands again, the hurt arm only being good for holding things. He now had the throwing knife, so naturally, he threw it directly at his opponent, the arm holding the gun to be specific, and jumped back behind the dust cloud, switching back to the chain in the process. But remembering that he had at least one long-range attack that wasn't throwing a knife, he sped back to the edge and switched back so his right hand was empety, but remained hidden.

Klaus was on full alert. The pain was only temporary, he had not been wounded by the chain. As he focused again, he saw his opponent hurling a poorly thrown knife at him. He dodged easily, the knife clattering to the ground behind him. His opponent moved back into the now fading dust cloud. Klaus quickly turned around and retrieved his knife, returning it to his belt. He kept his eyes peeled and his gun ready, and began walking slowly forward, searching.
