With the making of TOSC Namco might just try getting Lloyd or Emily or the current most popular TO character(Ludger) to be next 3rd party character though you are right the chances of a TO rep is low.
I think I don't want Lloyd for the sheer fact I hate ToS.

I'm not sure if ToSC will raise the chances of Emil or Lloyd though as that's PS3-exclusive. Then Ludger is Japan-only AND on PS3 only.

The only other options would be Cless or Luke.
Knowing Namco if they are repped in this we will get someone from Tekken or Pacman. As much as I wanted Klonoa I don't think he would ever get in Smash.

If I want another 3rd party, though, it'd have to be Travis Touchdown. A low chance, probably even lower than a Tales rep, but meh.

I am not so sure about Luke since ToA's 3DS sales were good but ToA seems to be really be unpopular.
Nah Travis Touchdown probably has a higher chance considering TO seems to be going Sony Console only now.

ToA's like, mid-high on the popularity scale from what I see.
It could be possible, but the fact Travis has only 2 games on the Wii makes it feel rather unlikely. But yeah, Tales is shifting to Sony consoles..

You could in fact also argue this with Pit (also 2 games at the time of Brawl's release), who was relatively unknown to the current generation until he appeared in Brawl, unless count his trophy in Melee.

Since there is no competition between them, they are allies now, so he is likely. Also, Sonic was the most requested for SSBB. I could see them adding two more 3rd part rep. Snake isn't related to Nintendo other than SSBB. I see Sonic, Shadow/Tails, Megaman and Zero. So still, two 3rd party universes.

Actually, Metal Gear started out as NES-only titles. Furthermore, Kojima is a former employee of Hal Labs (where Sakurai worked, they are apparently good friends, which is why Snake got in Brawl iirc).

Solid Snake has no chance of making a return though if you ask me, since the Metal Gear series is increddibly playstation specific and Solid Snake was kind of an oddball in Smash (I liked him though, he was my main for sure).

No, it didn't. Metal Gear was first released for the MSX2. Then a terrible NES port was made without Kojima's consent.
