Massive steam sale going on. I picked up Dust an Elysian tale for $3 and I like it so far.

The GOG sale has been going on for a while now, but today you can get yourself a free copy of Giants: Citizen Kabuto.

Two different free games for a limited time:
- Consortium is free on Steam until Monday, and once "bought" is free to keep. It's a sci-fi adventure game based on interaction with other characters and story-based decisions; an interesting niche title, which you might as well try out since it's free.
- Omikron: The Nomad Soul is being offered for free on Square Enix's online store, in memory of David Bowie, who wrote original music for and made appearances in the game. Ironically, it's very similar in concept to Consortium.

Psychonauts on sale for 99 cents.

Indie Gala has a surprising bundle this week: Costume Quest 2, Double Dragon Neon, A Boy And His Blob, and the Bloodrayne trilogy for three dollars. Also four other games, but clearly they're not the main attraction here.

GOG's summer sale is in full swing, which come to think of it makes me wonder where Steam's sale is. In any case, GOG is offering a free copy of System Shock 2 to anyone who collaborates in stress testing their GOG Galaxy client. Just a week or so earlier, they announced a plan where you could link your Steam account to GOG and get a free copy of any participating game you already own on Steam, so it looks like they're buckling down on being a direct competitor.

In case you have been living under a rock, System Shock 2 is the spiritual predecessor to Bioshock. It's much better & is one of the best games ever made
