Hello all. I'm recoding my shooter game from scratch, and I'm having a weird problem.
The BGM is coded in a control object, and is a .mp3 file. It starts as soon as the room is created. Also, the game is coded to trigger a .wav sound when I fire a laser.
Problem is, firing a laser makes the .wav sound... but stops completely the .mp3 BGM. I have revised all the code, and can't find what is causing the problem. Could you help me to find some answers?
PD: I'm using Win7 Ultimate 32 bit and Game Maker Pro 8.1

it sounds like something to do with the audio channels (is that the right word?)
you'll need to put the separate sounds on different audio channels (f*** im not sure if "channels" is even the word) to get them to play separately without stopping each other
