Just came back from a surgery and it got me kinda thinkin, Why do you think Christianity is the largest religion in the world and is growing by the day? Despite the immense persecution and prejudice that has been against it for over a 1000 years. (even in China and North Korea where being a Christian is illegal and can be punishable by death, people are still being converted to Christianity and some who are caught are being killed or put in jail as a result) I mean, there must be at least some validity to it, right, or else it would have died a long time ago (like the worship of the Greek gods), or at least be diminishing as years go by instead of growing. I've experienced the validity of It first-hand, but I just wanted to get some opinions as to why Christianity isn't dead yet.

the enemy of Allah, satan, creates false religions such as christianity to keep fools out of paradise since there are lots of fools, these false religions can only be extinguished by extinguishing the satanic fools who follow them

There's your answer. It grows. That's why it's not dead.

It's the largest religion and not dying because there has been evidence. Hell, even Cracked.com, a largely Atheist site, doesn't even deny some events, such as Noah's flood, citing its sources. (The exact article: 5 Ridiculous Ancient Beliefs that Turned Out to be True)) And religion as a whole will never die because people who have faith draw hope from it. In times of trouble for someone you love, nothing feels better than prayer; it helps you feel like you're actually doing something to help with what normally one would have zero control over. And you mentioned China and North Korea; people need all the hope they can get a hold of in those places.

@OP: The number of people in the world who identify as Christian is dropping, not growing. People are still religious in general because that's how they were brought up, they're scared of death/the unknown, and it feels good. The number of people who believe in something isn't relevant to the validity of the belief, though.
I am laughing irl at the idea of archeological evidence supporting Christianity. You're going to need to cite better sources than Cracked.com.

I do have other sources; only that they're in print and I can't very well tell you to google them up. EDIT: Let me clarify exactly why I mentioned Cracked. They're not notable as an info source, sure, but they're Atheist and they love to let us know it. Supporting anything any religion does or believes for them is rare, and that article is a case where they agree.

I just read that article. It doesn't actually cite any evidence that points to Noah's arc, or any biblical myth.
Give me the citation/author of your print-only articles.

The Apologetics Study Bible for Students. There are insets and articles detailing challenges and sites where events happened. I don't agree with some of the arguments it presents, but the arguments aren't what I'm citing. Also, read the edit to my last post. -You know what? We'll continue this via PM. We won't push each others' beliefs onto each other- we'll just say what we believe and why we believe it.

That's not peer reviewed, unbiased, or scientific. You need good sources to back up what you're saying. Also I'm not really interested in you telling me what you believe. Plenty of people have told me they believe stupid stuff and not much comes out of it. I'm interested in finding out if you have any justification.

It's very difficult to find anything unbiased. And, whenever I've searched, I've found things that were not only biased on both ends, but highly inflammatory, on both ends. Maybe I don't have solid proof. But I have logic. As for logic, you have to think. Everything in the universe is remarkably intricate. Take DNA; Every living organism is comprised from a blueprint of just four letters, forming complex systems that form more complex systems that form every piece of life. The possibility of this developing by chance are astronomical; in an uncontrolled environment, the odds are overwhelming that due to an imperfected survival system, the last cell would have died millions of years ago and no life would exist. I personally believe in evolution and acknowledge the evidence for it, but I believe that it was catalyzed and failsafed. And speaking of cells, where did the first cell come from? Cell theory states that cells must come from other cells. And the first atom? Law of conservation of mass states that new matter cannot be created or destroyed. And tell me about the Earth itself. It's perfectly formed to support life; It's the exact distance from the sun to not freeze or boil its inhabitants, it contains a more abundant amount of resources than any uninhabited planet (and not to mention that these resources are the most needed for chemical reactions; an alarming number of reactions, such as aqueous reactions (water) and combustion (oxygen), can only happen, as known so far, on Earth. No other known planet seems so specifically-developed. I do not think this is a coincidence.

I'd say that faith and logic do not go well together (as appeals). Emotional appeal in anything affects more people than logic.

all of those arguments are based around the same flawed logic: you are saying that because these things have a (supposedly) low chance of occurring one way, they must have instead occurred in a way that has no chance of happening that makes no sense without even considering the numerous factual errors; ray comfort is by no means the sort of man an honest christian should look to for proof of faith
