Yup, it drains the water out.
Make sure you take the battery out and put the phone and battery in seperate bowls. May not need seperate bowls but just in case.
Had two different phones washed on accident and rice fixed them both.

It's probably this. But if rice were the case, I'd assume a blow dryer would do the job just as well.

no a blowdryer can give the phone heat damage and yea it sux the water out the phone no to the salt becuase its simulair to that of a crystal and cut wires on the inside of phone and etc.
