A few minutes after take off, the airplane, leaving from New York's LaGuardia Airport, had it's engines set aflame over New York city, due to a flock of birds flying into both engines.

The US Airways plane made a 180 degrees turn, after which the pilot, Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger, went in for a crash landing in the Hudson River. Of the 155 passengers, 15 were injured, but none are in any life threatening danger.

Well, I know what company I'll be flying with in the future...

Is that a compliment or not?

On another note, bird strike at such altitude is just bad luck,

I can only imagine how they announced it.

"ATTENTION ALL PASSENGERS. OUR ENGINES HAVE BEEN CLOGGED BY SEVERAL PIGEONS. PLEASE BRACE FOR IMPACT."
