Besides in Smash Bros., Yoshi isn't counted as part of the Mario series.
Also does anyone know what the pink ribbon is in one of Peach's screenshots? Is it part of a new effect, or a new taunt or so?

I think Yoshi'll appear once we get close to the release date of that new Yoshi's Story game.
Like I don't think he will be in his yarn incarnation, but that seems like a good time to reveal him.

Oh my gosh, Peach is revealed! Like we didn't see this coming. I speculate that the next character revealed will be someone from the Kirby universe. Mainly Meta Knight.

Bowser Jr could definitely be a playable character, there's multiple possible movesets they can give him. Besides a moveset using the paintbrush, they could always give him a mini Clown Car to fight with, specifically the one with arms to attack with. If they do that, then he could be a multijump character, and can have a variety of possible projectiles. I could see his Final Smash being him rising up above the stage, and dropping a huge bomb on the stage, like one of his boss fights in NSMBWii.
