I'm running a nuzlocke on White 2 right now, female trainer because male looks boring as folk, and before I even chose my starter I found out you could edit your Trainer Card.
So I made myself a PKMN Breeder with a Naughty nature.

Meh, I could care less for Arcanine when I have Blaziken, Magmar, and Torkoal as alternate fire types. Especially Blaziken.  But wow, I haven't played a Pokemon game past gen IV (ruby/sapphire/emerald).

because you don't get the item needed to evolve Magmar until the Plasma Frigate alternatively: he already has the item but he doesn't have any friends to trade with
