I dont like the console Xbox either. ( its actually 'copying' the mii Idea, trying to appeal too the casual gamers )

going to agree with it being generic. i liked it, i did, but.. over hyped i believe so. the main character has the personality of a rock, the plot sometimes feels hardly there and the combat isn't as well made as many PC shooters. All in all it was decent, perhaps the very reason the combat wasn't so complex is why it did so well, appeasing a general casual audience.

I however, need more than an unknown man in a suit with a monotone and not-so-captivating plot to really call a game epic.

And now that they're actually going to attempt RTS.. well.. it'll either be an epic win or an incredibly epic fail. RTS isn't traditionally a casual genre, if they're going into this they really need to innovate to make it both fun and attractive to a casual consumer base, as well as the hardcore fans raving over each step bungie makes. This is something i personally, do not think Bungie will be able to accomplish, though, with the absolutely intense amount of hype they ensure each game they spawn has (good lord, halo 2 cups at 7-11..), they may do well to attract many to a broken recreation of Starcraft/C&C 3.

Or maybe they'll just do good.

Do you mean the fact that in every FPS all you do is shoot people?

No, I mean the fact that I can't derive satisfaction in shooting up stuff in Halo due to weak a** weapon feel above all things. That and the gamepad is crap for FPSes. I could make a more compelling argument but I'm short on time.

Well Ensemble did make the Age of Empires series are experts at making r0x teh s0x (RTS).
