Ermm,because NSMBW was not a sequel and is a Wii version of NSMB? That's the only reason I can think of,and it's already confirmed to be a 3DS game BTW.
And does anyone realize that recent Ninty games are numbered?(LM2,MK7,MP9,PokeP2)

Hmm, it looks just like NSMB, but just with a few extras, but I'm willing to try it when it gets released.

Nah i dont think NSMBW was a Wii version, it is essentially a spiritual sequel since it takes the gameplay of the first game, and adds more to it, more powerups, more enemies, and such. New styled Overworld maps, Koopalings, and more level types, as well as more music lol. Plus Yoshi. A lot of stuff was built on top of it, so it can be seen as a sequel.

Besides the same can be said about SMB1 to SMB3, Mario 3 plays differently than the first, but the idea is still the same, get to the end of the stage. There's more enemies, more powerups, more level diversity, newly introduced overworld map, more music, Koopaling bosses, the works. Its a sequel.

Btw im not saying that Mario 3 is a sequel to 1, i meant its the next game in the series. I didnt mention 2 because its essentially the same as 1 but with different levels and higher difficulty.

The DS version uses very detailed sprites. This one looks like the Wii versions with models and textures. There is an obvious diffirence. Also, great, now I'm torn between this, KH3D, and Project X Zone (If it comes over here.)
