Let's get this straight, people seems to forget that Nintendo is sorted all around in different divisions, the prime Nintendo will always be the headquartered Kyoto division. After that, the second most prominent would be the American (continent-wise) division followed by the European division. R.O.B. was a creation of the prime Nintendo of Japan, Nester was a product of the American division used to promote a no-longer produced magazine, rather than a video game. Therefore, Nester has very little impact on Nintendo's history, in fact he is only relevant for Nintendo Power's history, it's like actually wanting Captain N, a comic-originated character made into a cartoon, in this Smash Bros.

Except that Captain N. was a complete failure, whereas Nintendo Power (and Howard and Nester / Nester's Adventures) had a successful run, only they stopped because the public started moving on to digital media, so they decided not to renew it. And, in fact, Nester did make a good amount of impact, as his comics both advertised games and entertained the general audience in America back then (Or at least tried).
