Looks like Sony is trying to make their own Super Smash Bros. to me.
But then again Smash Bros. is way better.

Maybe you could turn it into them saying that all the characters they've revealed so far will be unlocked from the start. What kind of game has a mashup of characters with none hidden?

..UMvC3?

I think it's fine, personally. I've played games where everyone's unlocked from the start and they still ended up fine.
Three of those games are Arc System Works, but eh, what the hell, it should still be fine, yeah?

Most fighting games today don't have unlockable characters anymore because with most fighters being japanese, they get made into arcade machines first. So with the characters being on the arcade, there would not be much of a point to then make the game for consoles and have characters that need to be unlocked when you would already know who's in the game. (Some games, maybe two or three be unlockable, but they're be like 5 minutes easy to unlock)

This is also done so tourney organizators don't have to play through the whole game to make everything available to the competing players.

Sony is trying to be like all the other fighters.

And yet it has 22 pages. McLeodgaming amuses me so much sometimes. I even find myself checking here despite the fact I dislike the idea and don't even own a PS3.

I see flaws but I really think people are pissed over the "wrong things". Everyone is pissed more about Dante than the battle system. I'm honestly happy this new Dante is in PASBR. It won't plague the good one.

It's a mixed 50/50 bag

The good 50% side
-The roster seems actually cool
-The battle system is actually different from SSB
-The mixed stages idea is unique

The bad 50% side
-The GUI and Cutscenes so far look bland (so far. Not the finished product)
-Literally feels as if superbot put in little-some effort to make this game stand out
-No Crash or Spyro (hopefully, that'll be fixed)
-With a fully unlocked roster from the getgo, it really lowers the replay value
-Other than Big Daddy, there hasn't been any really unique additions to the roster

But again.. All opinions can be changed completely. We just have to wait till the game comes out in 2 more months

Big Daddy is indeed the most amazing thing that has happened to this game.

Dunno about most amazing, but I love it. I see where a lot of people are coming from with the whole "Nothing to do with Playstation" thing, but Bioshock was one of my favorite games this generation. It's great that he's in there.

Has there been any info on this game in regards to music? I wonder if they are gonna mashup the songs like the stages are.

Seems like it, that Tower-y stage eventually gets Sly-themed music when the players reach the top (where Carmelita is etc.).

Yeah, the songs are mashed up, but I've heard quite a bit of negative things about them. Can't comment on the quality myself, though, haven't managed to secure a beta key yet.

Methinks we wont find out about that until either close to the game's release or after, since technically taunts arent important to showcase.

Mehopes that the characters have more than one taunt like Smash Brawl.

Well, I heard of one frequent taunt being tossed around during the beta.
"You are no challenge and fun." -Sly

Plus, the current BG music are only placeholders. Considering Omar stated that the soundtrack sounds amazing. It's either that or Omar has cruddy taste in music.

Edit: Found something interesting.
