Well, just beat it after several years of build up and the like.

Alright alright, geeze...

I will admit, it is one of the more richly artistic video games I've played through. For what it is, it was a masterpiece... But the trouble is I don't think it had to be so damn simplified! I liked it, I honestly did, but there is just no excuse for having all that landscape and it being so hollow! It deprives the game of better character development and better writing. At least something to kill besides lizards and colossi would be appreciated. Everything in the game that had any effort put into it was wonderful, but that ended up being so lacking that it stopped me from loving the game as much as most gamers seemed to have. Again, I don't hate it, I don't even dislike it, but frankly, I kinda see why something like this would spend some time in obscurity like it did. Beyond Good and Evil was a game many celebrated but few played and when I finally checked it out, it easily forced itself into my top ten video games list. SotC had no such luck I'm afraid.

Go ahead, talk it out, those who have played it or just know how great it is anyway... And it is great, without a doubt, it is great. I'd recommend it to most gamers out there I know who are seeking something strong and well put together... I just wouldn't recommend it as much as the internet recommended it to me...

Well, that's two of history's forgotten and later vindicated video games down... Guess I gotta get Psychonauts next

Nothing to add on SotC

It does look considerably more my thing than SotC was. I understand it's got a great sense of humor, which would be really nice after this game that really did take itself really seriously...

I won't say it took itself TOO seriously. There are a lot of video games I feel do that, but SotC, for its faults, does establish a itself as a world that is humorless and that it holds a lot of gravity... It's kind of annoying, but I don't find it silly

I'm trying to finish the lost gem that is Conker's Bad Fur Day as well. As a platformer, it's okay, nothing all that special. Thank God it has an epic sense of humor
