Even if that's what it was, and I would argue it's not, dramatic irony doesn't make a character likable.
It can make them well written, but not likable.
PATROKLOS IS NOT LIKEABLE
By all rights, Lexia should have. Even the main character. Her mother was one of Soul Calibur's first true wielders, she has a past that has darkness and controversy surrounding it, but at least she keeps in good spirits. If they wanted to take the series in a new direction, something I can understand after two games of gloomy and self loathing (though still awsome) Sigfried, that's great, more power to em, but Lexia could have done the job so much better.
I'm just glad the series has established Soul Calibur is malevolent as well, it explains why awsome, good hearted characters like ZWEI and Lexia don't get it and why our jackass Greek friend does.
