And the plus to being an atheist is that you don't have to do anything restricting when you'd otherwise have to in your religion.

You just sound like a f*** a******

Hey, I don't mind if people want to believe what they want to, if you're a Catholic, it's fine, I think no less of them.

But what about how the Bible portrays atheists? Psalms 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, 'There is no God.' They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that does good."

Silly, silly bible.

Next person who answers a love question for me (before I do, at least) gets a warning, how's that sound? It always derails into crap. Go make your own thread.

I'll answer for you tonight, Kuro Kagami.

I'll take this one, Ramsey. Leave that warning in your pants.

An atheist is someone who doesn't believe in gods of any form. An agnostic is someone who is awaiting solid evidence of any god or higher being.

If you're an atheist, you base your life around facts. Arguing with a creationist is futile, so the best thing to do is not give a s*** what she believes in. Now, unless she walks around with a crucifix charm and spouts biblical passages, she won't care what you know or don't know about Christianity. Most adolescents nowadays actually default to agnostic at or around high school level because, as a species, our way of thinking is evolving. We're beginning to cast off the brutal traditions of our ancestors in favor of logical discoveries such as the Higgs Boson. From what you've said, it sounds to me like she's at that point where she's about to realize how stupid the idea of a god is and will transition from Christian to agnostic to atheist. If you like her, ask her out and act like you normally do. She'll eventually figure herself out.

And if she dumps you, it'll be because of your nasty eating habits, not your "Jesus walks into a bar..." jokes.

Umm... If she starts thinking the idea of God is stupid wouldn't she just skip agnostic and go to atheism? I mean, you don't think: I think God is really up there! Wait, no, no that's just stupid but maybe I'm stupid. Oh, wait, I'm not stupid the idea is.

It doesn't work like that.

For someone to go from Christianity to agnostic would be them having questions that do not have answers, also from going to anything to agnosticism to atheism is stupid, at least in this day and age because there really isn't any 'evidence' that God doesn't exist.

So yeah you're wrong on that part but other than that you're pretty much right.

Wrong on that part? You don't pay attention to current events, do you? We just discovered the 'god particle'. If that's not enough to make someone question the existence of a deity, then nothing is.

Also, you're an idiot if you don't think belief wavers before switching sides entirely. You become unsure about something, remain reasonably certain, gather answers, and make an informed decision. Most influence comes from surrounding peers and passive recognition. Almost no one actively researches their religion to find out if it's s*** or not, they ultimately determine what's right over the course of a fews years and all the while keep a failsafe, mainly claiming to be agnostic.

Now shut the f*** up and take your naiveté to the grave or you will be warned.

I'm quite aware of the Higgs boson particle, still never shook my beliefs.

Also I went straight from a Catholic to an atheist, I never pondered if God did exist after that, nor during the conversion. I went from point A to B real quick. I had all the information I needed to make an informed choice right then and there, and I thought others should, too, but I guess that's not the case for most people, considering you'd call me an idiot for thinking that. But then again the bible thinks I'm a fool and corrupted.

You're shunned by both sides for jumping to conclusions. Now shut it.

So basically, I'm going along the lines of "I don't mind that you're religious, and I don't mind if you change, I accept you" and not worrying about it?
Sounds easy enough.

just don't say that to her literally of course
like if she brings it up then sure make sure she knows you're okay with it, but if there's no reason to bring up the topic then don't.

I know. No need to risk things early.

Alright, Love Guru topic, I have a problem. I have someone I'm interested in and I think she likes me back. However, if I remember correctly, she is a Christian. I'm an Atheist. To the point where I find it cool to side alongside Lucifer and attack heaven. Sure. I say this because it happens in a game but.. well. You know. People take offense to this stuff. I really don't want to f*** it up. I think I'm getting somewhere and I really think it could work out. I have a habit of saying "Oh God" and I have done it in front of her, and also said the the thing with Lucifer to someone, but she could hear. I didn't realize she was in hearing range at the time but remembering it, she never got mad at me. Even the times when I yelled "OH GOD", she never got mad and even laughed in some cases. But I don't want to let some book get in my way of my life. What should I do?
As a note, I do not hate religion.

Preach to me, O informed Atheistic one. How did life, the earth, and the universe come into existence?
