Even Thai isn't as hardcore like that.

Hieroglyphs are even more fun, they can be written both to the left and to the right. You read in the direction opposite the one the characters face (so if the characters look to the left, you read from left to right).

Reading Thai is damn easy if you just memorise what sound they are associated to, or what modification to the sound they make.

I haven't tried learning any exotic languages yet and I'm not that much of a linguist so I can't comment further beyond, heiroglyphs sound as hard as learning Chinese characters.
