And it's entirely possible that the select screen isn't legit, but considering how much of the rest of it is legit I'm inclined to believe that is as well

Wolves are kinda like dogs, right? Do Jon Talbain or Yugo count? EDIT: Or Amaterasu in MvC3, for that matter. Phoenix Wright is also assisted by a dog in that game. And that Persona fighting game also has a dude who is assisted by a dog.

You're jumping from point A to point C. Ganondorf's attack animations are still loosely based on Cap's. That's a fact, well done in identifying it. But you were asked to explain why this wasn't the best game ever made.
