I have some theory. Chibi-Robo and Isaac are characters born in the GC/GBA's eras, both popular characters and both are highly requested. If they both made it in the roster, I think some other characters might make it into the game. But those characters would need to have debuted on the GC/GBA era or even on the Nintendo 64 era. The roster was finished probably around 2010/2011. Sora and Lloyd are popular characters, and they had games on the GBA, however Lloyd also had one on the GC. I speculate the next characters appearing on the game as newcomers:
- Andy (Advance Wars)
- Simon Belmont (Castlevania)
- Ray MK III (Custom Robo)
- Pokemon from Generation 3
- Ridley (Metroid)
- Skull Kid (The Legend of Zelda)
- Lyn (Fire Emblem)
- Jill (Drill Drozer)
- Ashley or Jimmy T. (WarioWare)
- Knuckles (Sonic the Hedgehog)
I speculate these characters coming back as veterans:
- Pit (Kid Icarus)
- Pikmin & Olimar (Pikmin)
- Ice Climbers
- Snake (Metal Gear Solid)
- Luigi, Bowser, Diddy Kong, Ganondorf, King Dedede, Falco, Lucario, Little Mac, and Mr. Game & Watch.

I speculate someone like Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong (separately or switch-out like Princess Zelda and Sheik), Toad and/or Toadette (same as Diddy/Dixie), and Knuckles, and Shadow. Maybe Amy Rose as a way to fill Super Sonic's separate playable role in SSF.

No he hasn't been confirmed at any point of Development aside from that April Fools joke. So no, he doesn't seem that "he will make it soon".

I'd like to see them add more characters that'll never make it in the official games. Guys like Takamara, Dillon, and Geno. I'd also like to see Shulk, Isa Jo/Saki/Airan, or Falco

From what I heard from somewhere (the MG main site or the MG Direct video), new content will come after 0.9b's release. This doesn't mean a new demo persay, but they didn't mention 0.9b is the final demo though.

As for characters that will never appear in SSB4 and above, I wouldn't count out Takamara and Shulk just yet until Sakurai states otherwise. Dillon might get his chance in the next game (Little Mac got in, why not Dillon?) Geno though, I'm not sure.

I meant in ssb4 mostly because production on this game will be long completed by the time another official game comes out. Dillion an Takamara are confirmed AT'sso there definitely not gonna be playable. I think I read it in this topic but it was a quote from one of the devs explaining there process of selecting characters for the game, and I think the devs understand that curtain characters won't make it in but fans can always come here to play as all the characters from there ssb wish list. That's why I say Dillion and Takamara, heck I bet little Mac made it, was gonna be revealed but held of to tweak his moveset to better fit his ssb4 counterpart. Anything can happen.

Dunno if it's been mentioned or not, but until we get Travis Touchdown, there is no justice in this cruel world!

I don't feel like that's gonna happen. As of SSBB, if he was in, I think we would get him via Pokemon Trainer as the roster for SSF2 was finalized before SSB4's reveal of Charizard.
