Like,are the button controls different or is it better?

you hold a to dash, which you can use to climb up short walls or steep terrain, but you have a stamina bar so you can't dash forever
you press b to use the item you've got selected, you hold minus to bring up a wheel of your items which you just point at and release minus to change to.
other than that it's control stick to move and all motion for sword play and shield use.

You can dash while climbing walls? Great.
Also will there still be the annoying taking out and putting back the sword?

Conference talking about the "November Update" and some of the games that are coming out soon. It's in japanese but there are visuals so you can understand some of it.

For those who can't be f*** to watch the presentation, the cliffnotes version is essentially
-3D video recording, up to ten minutes at a time. Can also now make stop motion videos and time-lapse videos in 3D.
-New streetpass functionality that lets you see where the people you meet are from and other misc info about them.
-Several new puzzles for the Streetpass Puzzle Swap game.
-New Streetpass Quest, longer and more in-depth gameplay.
-Mario Kart 7 runs at 60 fps even while doing 8-player online.
-Mario Kart 7 streetpass functionality lets you trade all sorts of things with strangers, including ghost data.
-Can race against multiple ghosts at a time, if you have more than one saved for a single course. Can race against personal ghosts and streetpass-collected ghosts alike.
-Several new 3DS exclusive games coming to the eShop. The ones they showed looked pretty cool.
-Online pictochat with people on your friends list, from the home menu. Can choose one of several different formats for your "letters" and also include sound that you've recorded.
-New footage for a 3DS game coming out called Rolling Western, which looks really f*** cool.
-More KH3D footage, no new info though really. Looks great, but we already knew that.
-Rune Factory 4 coming out exclusive to 3DS (f*** YES)
-Interesting looking new IP game shown off. Seems to be visual novel + pokémon + final fantasy. Lost Heroes, coming 2012.

Why does the first things that come to my mind are Sonic and Zelda?
Mostly Zelda because of the style thats similar to that of the Zelda DS titles and the fact that the player sounds exactly like Link
