Brawl doesn't even have combos and it's somehow more interesting looking than this. What kind of combo video just has the opponent standing there waiting to get hit? Is there even DI in this game

WHOOSP HERE'S DEM CHARACTERS
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/07/ ... the-fight/

No surprises at all, but it's good to know that Jak's in his Jak 3 costume.

Thoughts:
Jak's moveset seems to be balanced from all of his games. Guns, eco, light/dark forms, hoverboard, daxter, etc, it's all there. Which is what I wanted.
Cole's L2 (?), the spikes, was cool as hell.
Cole's L3, however, was kinda anticlimactic. Looked a little dull, really. And there's something off about Cole in general. He looks a bit too.. bright? I dunno.

Glad to finally see Jak, though. Should've revealed him in the first bunch.

Edit:

Welp, I hope I still have the refund ticket then.

Anyway, Cole&Jak ain't that much-a suprize tbh. I'd rather we get to see some more 'classic' Playstation char crashing headlong into the battle.

Jak looks like he will have the most unique moveset, so far.

I wonder that too. It looks like it's going to need it. You build meter FAST in this game; like 5-7 hits gives you your first bar and lvl 1 supers are pretty easy to combo into from what I've seen. It's better have DI, otherwise this game is going to have more "Touch of Death" combos than Mahvel Baybee.

They should have at least put health bars, so supers aren't one-hit-kills. I like the idea of making a fighter based completely around meter managing; it's creative and unique, but I don't see this turning out very well.

They should have had it with a tension meter like Battle Stadium D.O.N. methinks that would have been a perfect system for a game like this.

I'm hoping DI is implemented in this game also but I want to share you guys with this info I found.

EVO
YouTube Video:

Observe Big Daddy the moment the match starts. Notice how he quickly rack up his AP meter into lvl 1. Now once he gets into lvl 2 and AP farms on 2 characters, he only gains NEARLY a 1/3 of his AP meter.
Now after he uses his Lvl 3, focus on Sly. At around 2:24, Sly uses his Lvl 2 AND retains another Lvl 2.

E3
YouTube Video:

Skip ahead to 4:20. Fat Princess has a lvl 2 with a bit leftover. Once she uses it, she is left with half her AP meter filled. Not nearly empty.

To make a long story short, the AP gauge grows exponentially. So, it is possible to stack supers and perform two lvl 2's or a lvl 2 and a lvl 1.

Man the more i hear about this game, the less i want it. Im sure fans around are saying the same thing. They really need to change something if they expect this game to do well.

Or they can cancel it and try to make something original for once in their company's history. I mean I'll play it if I know someone that has it, but I don't think I can see myself spending money on it.

^ Lol at that statement. EyeToy (controller-free gaming), dual analog sticks, and rhythm games (Parappa the Rapper was the first) immediately come to mind... I may be mistaken though

But yeah, in terms of gameplay, this doesn't look like a $60 game to me. I'll think about picking it up for $40 after I try it out first... Assuming they release a demo for it, at least. The crossover stages are probably the coolest thing about this game to me.

Just a quick recap. Superbot has stated Lvl 1 supers are hard to land. Especially since all supers are performed on the ground and the combat is directed more unto air game in order to avoid 0 to death. Unless someone happens to exploit that, then it will be a problem. However, Superbot also said they can balance any disturbences such as OP AP farming or 0 to death without any patching.

GAME MECHANICS

SUPERS
- Supers are earned by accumulating AP
- There are 3 levels of super, each level being more powerful than the last
- Supers can’t be blocked, but there are various ways to defend against them
- Level 1 supers are not as easy to land. Level 2 supers are more combo-able.
- Level 3 supers lockout all other supers. Example: While Kratos is in god-mode, no other super can be activated.
DEFENDING AGAINST SUPERS (Level 1 and Level 2)
- Supers can be avoided, dodged, or countered
- Supers can be dodged.
+ With half a frame on a roll. Several characters were shown doing this.
+ With a full frame on an air dodge. Big Daddy was able to air dodge Nate’s Lvl 1 propane tank super
- Supers can be evaded.
+ Sly was able to teleport outside of a super
+ A big focus is the air game which is used avoid many OTG supers
- Supers can be interrupted
YouTube Video:

Parrapa the Rapper interupt Cole's lvl1 super at 5:24
+ Normals can be used to interrupt most level 1 supers which require a charge up.
+ Supers can be countered with other supers
EVO Panel

It really depends on which style of combat people prefer and how they go about this game.
However, I'm a bit worried on stacked supers but that's only preventing lvl 3's to be a least effective method of killing in matches. Otherwise, I will mostly get the game out of curiosity. AC3 comes first though.

Did it just show Sly teleporting? Even if its just at a short range, thats badass.

Thats probably a reference to the smoke bomb gadget where it makes you unoticable (pretty much the same as invisible) for a few seconds, enough time to get behind an enemy.

Oh, that would explain why he's only able to pseudo-teleport very short distances. Although I still haven't seen him able to do his cane slam yet, which saddens me. Especially since it would be a perfect move to follow up the smoke bomb with.

So apparently there's this guy giving out hints about stuff in this game. He states that he knows pretty much everything about the game or something.

Here are the newest hints he has up on his blog as of this post:
http://paulgalenetwork.com/home/2012/07 ... s-weekend/
I hear the fourth pic hints at Snake.
Also, apparently, Cole was hinted at in these... hints. Cole was later confirmed so yeah.

Plenty more hints in these hints the guy says (somewhere here)

Feel free to speculate away at these.

Here's his hints towards Heihachi and Toro a day before they were revealed, in case you guys wanted to know:
