Isn't that name scientifically incorrect?
The suffix, "-itis", means "inflammation of", and so "Wiiitis" would mean "inflammation of the Wii", and that's not what 'Wiiitis' is.

You are indeed correct on that observation. It doesn't seem as if there exists a collective suffix for strains, though.

*refrains from a comment implying a high occurrence of a certain -itis amongst game journalists*
