You don't know 'til you try! That bein' said, though, it might be better for you to do something simple and short to test the waters- somethin' from the SNES days, like Sparkster or Nosferatu.

As far as your commentary goes, keep it rolling if you think it's interesting enough- ideally you want people to watch for your experience, not the game itself! Alsoooo, are you using a desktop microphone or a headset?

Retsupurae is a channel/set of videos that mock often badly made LPs. Before you say anything, the people who do it are mostly from SomethingAwful who I think basically started the whole craze (or at the very least, has a subforum and archive dedicated to it).

I will be using a headset, because it allows better quality in the recordings. My first time through won't be as good as later times I do it, so don't think I'm gonna be a terrible commentator after this 1st LP. Hope you guys watch whatever it is!

I chose Luigi's Mansion because it's a great game and I haven't seen a quality LP of it before.
Look buddy, LPs can be great fun to watch if you put the time and effort in and if you've got the right kind of humor. They can also be painful to watch if you lazily slap together some muffled audio and grainy video of you playing a game while you "um" and "uh" all over the place.
Tell your family to shut up, don't use a webcam and plan your discussion topics beforehand, you should be fine.

All of my LP's will be 100% cleared. I've already got ideas for topics for the first LP, which from the looks of it so far might end up being Luigi's Mansion, unless others go up.

Maybe just for your first LP you wanna do pre-recorded, which is where instead of talking while you play, you go back and talk over the video after it's been recorded with just the game audio. It's a lot easier to focus on one aspect at a time if you do it like that, and you may end up with a better result.

Post-commentary takes the fun out of it though. I'm wanting to do live-commentary, I'm going to do a practice run or 2 before i actually record to make sure I have everything right.
