Yeah it looks like quite a different approach, but not in a bad way like with SPM.

Super Paper Mario was still fun. I admit it wasnt as good as the others, but its still fun. Soundtrack is cool too. TTYD was my favorite too, although i never got to play the first one.

It was a good game but it didn't gel well as part of the series. It could've been detrimental to what the game's were originally supposed to be if they hadn't decided to revert back to the original system for Sticker-Star.

You could consider it a spinoff of the spinoff

That's actually how I view Super Paper Mario... It was a great game, yet it didn't fit into its series... which was a spin-off of a series.

Yeah... The main reason I love it so much is that it places a huge emphasis on story, and succeeds well. Take Count Bleck for example. He has a VERY compelling backstory that makes you feel sorry for him.

I will not be able to get it, Wii U is more important.

I will let you know how it is then [Edit] Wish i could double post but oh well.. Sticker Star is pretty interesting so far, theres a world map system which is a first i think for Paper Mario. Will make backtracking a lot easier. One thing i kinda dont like though, is that they started using paper based pun jokes such as "Am I ripped anywhere?" or "Thats so unpaperlike". Normally i like the humor in the Paper Mario series, but i dont think they needed to go there.

I've noticed that each consecutive Paper Mario game relies more and more on its paper nature as a gimmick. The original just rolled with it, didn't do anything special, TTYD introduced those curses, and now with Sticker Star we've hit the inevitable apex of paper gimmickry.
As for the game itself, it's good. Aside from an absolutely dreadful opening sequence where you need to find several Toads to help roll the town back out (one of them you get by flipping a doormat over by hitting the hammer nearby, which is never suggested, and another you get by hitting the underside of a balcony twelve times), you end up in a surprisingly well thought out game. They literally leave stickers all over the place, so you never need to worry about running out; your cup will runneth over with stickers, all the time. My only complaint, besides the aforementioned Toad scene, is that every boss is nearly impossible to beat unless you have a very specific sticker with you at the time. (Protip: there's a baseball bat in the tombs of the desert. Without it, you will never beat the desert boss.)
But the biggest problem with the game is not that it's a bad game, it's that it's a good game in the shadow of fantastic games. Sticker Star is a perfectly good stand-alone title, but when compared to the first two it comes up short. If you've never played Paper Mario before, make this one your first, but then play The Thousand-Year Door immediately afterward.

Well another thing i dont like is that there's literally no benefit from defeating enemies, since there's no exp this time. So what the hell are they there for other than for coins. You dont really need coins much either, at least as far as ive gotten. So they seem totally pointless.

TTYD definitely was awesome(Glitz Pit, for example). My favorite Mario games are as follows; Best RPG: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Best Platformer: New Super Mario Bros. Wii Best 3D Platformer: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Best Music: Super Paper Mario Best Villain: SPM Best Story: SPM Best Racing: Mario Kart Wii(without motion control scheme xD) Best Humor: Mario And Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Best Boss Fights: Super Mario Galaxy Best Final Boss: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Most Innovative: Luigi's Mansion Best Overall: SPM Vivian in TTYD was my favorite. She was powerful, a good character, and she threatens her abusive sister instead of the other way around near the end.

Super Paper Mario? Best overall? It was a good game, but I personally think that when it comes to the Paper Mario series, TTYD or the original would be better.
