This tournament will be streamed at Twitch.tv/pokepen. Featuring a stream layout, commentary, and a player cam. We want to create the premier SSF2 tournament viewing experience. Event is held weekly on Thursday starting at 3:00 PM.

This tournament series is different from most because it is offline. We are doing this to prevent online lag, and also so the players can actually interact. However, it is closed, meaning only the players in the local area can enter. But what this does means for the players entering is that there will be a prize pot. Later on in the series we are planning to have USB Gamecube Controller Adapters at every setup.

I actually don't know why there is pretty much no offline tournaments, and not a single streamed offline tournament. I hope that people start doing more offline tournaments, the gameplay is much more clean.
Don't get your hopes too high for commentary, we're all teens. I'll try to do commentary when I can. At "Thunderstorm" I'll try to get "Eric" on commentary though, he's good at it.

I think the reason there are practically no offline tournaments is probably because its hard to get enough people together who are interested in SSF2. I've tried (and am still trying) to get people to just try ssf2 but most people would just rather play the official smash games. Which makes sense, they want to win in that game so they do not want to jeopardize those chances by playing a different game that they have to adjust to.

So is this tournament held in SeaTac? Wow, that's way closer to me than any ssf2 events that have happened (smash con and Apex were both on the other side of the continent). Still 2 and a half hours away plus a border crossing, even if it weren't closed entry I wouldn't be getting down there anytime soon lol.

I know only like 1 person who is mainly a SSF2 player in my area, "Sonybubblemint." The rest are SSB4 and SSBM players, but I guess they don't mind playing a game with different mechanics.
