good luck D: i hate guitar lessons. they do teach you a lot but im self taught. but if i were you. gget to the part where you can learn on your own then quit.. because after you know notes and scales and all that.. then you can go home and teach yourself.. _________________

Agreed. It's much more fun to learn alone. It doesn't cost you either! You can even find guides on how to teach fast play, basics and stuff. There are even chord finders too. Just make sure to learn the basics chords, then you can practice theory chords. Then you've got it right. If you've played piano, you have easy learning guitar, although the chord finger setting is much diffrent

I play the flute, and usually when I tell people they laugh at me >_>. I actually like playing it, its fun sounding and I can play the Mario theme on it. If I can learn how to beat-box on it, I'll let you guys know

I didn't know scales when I started. And I'm still not great with music theory. I went straight to the tabs after I figured out basic chords like E, A, G, and C. _________________  |

I take lessons, and I can read notes, arpeggiate, Know all 7 of the major scale modes, and the harmonic minor modes, and some of the Melodic minor modes. I can harmonize the major scale in 7ths, and a bunch of other things. I still take lessons because every week, I learn something new. Like, I didn't know about diminished 7's until last week(Root, b3, b5, b7)
