Something I've run into recently is cloth movement, for things like shirts, scarves, and pants, among other things.

I don't think a spriting tutorial is going to cover all of this, guys.

Spriting tutorials should be limited to pixel tech. I'm sure you can find drawing/animation books for most of these.

It'll cover whatever they want it to cover, thank you very much lol. This will be very expansive.

For some reason, I've always had trouble with foreshortening, could you put something in that?

Would you mind having the inclusion of an explanation of colors?
For example:
1. Which colors aesthetically look pleasing together
2. How to make a character stand out from the background without eye-strain
3. Recommendations on how much different shades of a color to use
4. When to reuse colors on the color pallete, and when not to
and so on and so forth.

You don't need a tutorial for pillow shading. It's a bad technique that you should avoid because it does not clearly identify the lightsource reflecting on your pixel art. There's always a specific lightsource that shines on your work from a certain direction. From there, you have to shade it accordingly to both the direction and the intensity of the light.

Here are some examples i found on the web (Credit to The PixelJoint Art Tutorial) to give you some explanation on it's own.

Yes, it was put on hold for SSF2 among other reasons though.

greetings everyone,
im a traditional artist, and im giving my first little tiny tiny steps in digital. i would absolutely LOVE to design something that could enter the game.
sadly, i neve did a sprite. neither i know how to do it or even where to start. i did a few pixel paintings in the past though, and from what i can see theyre similar to sprites, at least in design.

if its not too much to ask, is it possible that someone gave me a few hints on what program you guys use (and how to use it, if possible) and a few tricks? im perfectly fine with anatomy, shading and stuff (i learnt all that in traditional) im more concerned about specific tricks for sprites, because these are supposed to be part of what could be considered an "animation", thus it has frames with motion. i have done stop-motion and other animation methods before, but im well aware that this is different, so im betting all i got it has some sort of trick into it.

thanks in advance!

There isn't much more to spriting then there is to drawing, really. I suggest paint for screwing around and getting accustomed to the transission from pencils-to-pixels, and photoshop for the next step.

On the internet there excist multiple tutorials on basic spriting, but if you feel like you know the basics of art, then I suggest you just play around a bit with either the line or the pencil tool untill you've got the hang of it.

Hope that helped a bit!
