Agreed. Tbh, smoke hasn't really belonged with the robot trio for a little while. I would honestly like to see him return in his good ol' human body and possibly introduce either Cyrax or Sektor as separate characters.

Does anybody know how they plan to create this robot hybrid? Will each variation be a different robot?

and Sektor being Sub-Zero's external HDD for all his animes in the story mode doesn't?

they can't even come up with three interesting variations for Reptile, how are they going to do it for three different robots

gonna preface this by saying i've basically never played mortal kombat so i'm not familiar with these particular characters

but i feel like combining three existing characters into one wouldn't really satisfy fans of any of them

mostly the people who would dig it would be the ones who were lukewarm about those characters to begin with I'd think. If you were a super big fan of one of them, that character's gone now, replaced with this thing that's kinda him but mostly not

Well as an actual fan of all three of those characters I can say I'm totally fine with this

In the base game maybe I'd be annoyed, but as DLC it makes sense. They can only add a limited amount of characters, I'd rather they combine the three robots into one than only include one of them

The game is already set up so every character has three variations, it'd honestly be silly not to do it like this

When did the new characters come out? It looks like they've all been released, there's fatality videos for all of them, but there was like zero fanfare. Until you bumped the thread, I forgot the game existed.

The game is a waste. Why make a separate game disc for the same game, with "added" characters. Maybe if more was put into it, such as a continuation of the story mode, or something related to space, such as giving a character another fatality. Game is just 3 characters with two new fatalities, 3 new characters. (XL says 5 bc sektor, smoke and the other guy for triborg) I didn't want Bo Rai Cho. I didn't want Leatherface. Alien is cool. Don't know why they just call him Predator. Then there is Triborg. I wanted Sektor. I wanted Smoke. But not like this. Where is human Smoke? That was the main. And Sektor was the top tier of MK9. Never really cared for Cyrax.
But the real question.

Where is NOOB?

Noob Saibot was the best character in MK9. Why'd they take him out. AND THEN NOT THINK TO BRING HIM BACK AS DLC. MKX is stupid. MKXL is equally stupid. Ryona is OP tho. 2/10 Save your money. Don't buy if you have MKX.

Because some people may not have bought the original MKX and now won't have to bother with buying the game and all the DLC afterwards and instead can buy everything at once for the sake of convience? That's how these things work? Although granted, usually platinum/complete editions offer some slight extra's like art books or whatever.

Alien and predator are two different things

Predator Alien would've been a cool variant though, especially since the Predator is in MKX too. Baraka Alien feels kind of like a cop-out.

I'm not sure if it was the case, but I think the new disc had something to do with their changing of the netcode? I have no idea because I don't own the game at all because I'm a squeamish b****, but I think a rehaul of an integral part of your game's system isn't something you can just patch.

I never cared much for the cyber lin kuei, but I do like what they did with Triborg, I mean, it's harder to create 3 variations for 3 very similar fighters than it would be to roll them into one, and have that reason make sense. Bo Rai Cho is a great character honestly, and I feel if they do continue the story as they are he's going to become important.

But yeah Leatherface is stupid, but then again so are a lot of the guest characters so I don't have much to say here. Noob has been mentioned a bit in this, but is "missing", whereas Human Smoke is still a revenant I think, unless I missed something in the Story that freed him. They'll all be back, don't worry.

Do they? Usually if you want an art book or whatever you have to buy the big stupid collectors editions of the original and the "complete" editions are the game + the DLC and nothing else

hell, sometimes they don't even put the DLC on the disc for the "complete" editions and just include a code for it instead. probably because they're crying about used sales lmao
