Oh mah god. My sides. I can't believe after the years of jokes about the original, they're actually making a sequel. It's so stupid. No one is going to support this th-

WHOA! WHOA! WHOA! Inspired by Streets of Rage and Devil May Cry!? Not a fighting game!? Holy jam! You have my freaking attention.

EVO2015 main-stage game confirmed.

I'm at a loss for words. I never thought that Shaq-Fu would ever get a sequel.

I'm not going to write this off as an awful game yet, but I'll be cautious.

i like how you guys are assuming the game will be bad because it's a sequel to a bad game
i doubt the people who worked on the original are even touching this one

No! Definitely not! There are two, and only two, similarities between our Shaq Fu, and the abomination that was born in the nineties: The name, and the starring character.

We are gamers, not executives. We know what’s good and we know what stinks. This isn’t about trying to make a quick buck, it’s about creating something that both we and Shaq can be proud of. We want to make a slick, fun, rock-solid game.

We’ve assembled a team of creative people who have this vision at the heart of what they do and we’re really excited about this. We want you to be a part of that excitement and a part of this awesome project.

Most celebrity games take a well known face and build a crappy game around it, knowing it will sell. We want to build a game that would kick a** even without Shaq. As the main character, however, Shaq, really wants to be a part of this and we love that he’s onboard. He's going to have a huge involvement in this and he is not about to let the same mistake happen twice, and neither are we.

This.

My main issue is that I don't know the company's track record, since its their first game. So it could be a good game, but it could also be a bad one.

I'm not gonna call the game bad until I play it for myself, but I won't set my expectations too high. I doubt that it will be as bad as the first one, but since its a beat-em-up, I doubt they could mess it up that badly.

The name "Shaq-Fu," has become the butt to a number of gaming jokes. I actually think it's really cool that after 20 years, that game still bothers Shaq. He and the developers of Big Deez seem very determined about this project, looking to redeem value to the title.

Edit: Hot jam, it got $4,000 in a bit over an hour.

That is not a Kickstarter, Zalo

I was seriously considering donating $15 for it, until I read the $25 incentive:

Indiegogo page wrote:
DLC for Life

Digital copy of base game on PC, plus all future downloadable content for free for life including all characters, weapons and customization options. This is over $200 of value.

I've never felt my hype drop quite so hard

Maybe saying "we're going to charge you an extra $200 for the FULL game, which we already have fully planned before the game itself is even in pre-production" isn't the best marketing strategy

Not to mention, every "meet shaq" tier doesn't include travel expenses

EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE TO PAY $25,000-$35,000 FOR SOME OF THEM

Yeah, even if they are just trying to gauge interest, I don't see how those higher pledging help judge it. Although Shaq is going to cover a good portion of the needed funds, those larger ones seem a little outrageous and pointless for the project.

But how would "DLC for Life," even work. How long do they expect this game to last.
