talking about three albums today because i haven't had time to mention em

Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers - Moanin'
Some really cool hard-bop. If you're into jazz at all this is a great album to try out. It's not difficult to get into at all, it's very accessible and melodic and groovy and catchy, but still very very good. Definitely give it a spin if you're into jazz at all.
8/10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yg5n045lvWM

Zach Hill - Face Tat
My experiences with Zach Hill are pretty much limited to his contributions to Death Grips and his contributions towards Hella. The former group I still enjoy quite a bit, the latter I've never really enjoyed at all. I wasn't really sure what to expect with Face Tat besides crazy drumming and noise. I got both. Most of these tracks are interesting enough but don't do too much for me, although a few stood out a bit and pleasantly surprised me. The vocals are really abstract and aren't very appealing to me on most of these tracks, but on a few they fit in pretty alright. Anyone into noise rock or intense drumming would probably like this record. I don't think it's an album I'll be coming back to all that often but I enjoyed it more than I expected, in all honesty.
5-6/10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sDx0m7fmNo

Common - Be
My opinion on this album hasn't changed at all, I'm afraid. Still underwhelming and average hip-hop. Nothing stands out, but nothing is offensively bad or anything. It's not anything to sneeze at. Kanye and Mos Def and Slum Village and even Outkast or any other "classic" hip hop artist is probably more worthy of your time.
4ish/10. This track is ok: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aWSzmDE7H4

Good Nature by Youthmovies
Preview: Cannulae

These guys are indie rock with some oddities to their sound. I'm not sure they really do much for me as a whole, but the above track is really really cool. The album's probably a grower (confirmed by Nix), but it doesn't really stand out to me enough to make me want to keep listening to it, you know what I mean? It is kinda cool though.

Rating: Okay

Final calendar (Upload your final calendars and I'll add them to the OP!)
Favorites for the month: Mezzanine, Illinois, The Grandeur That Was Rome, Lullabies in a Glass Wilderness, Endtroducing, The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me

So that's November, folks! What were your favorites/least favorites/biggest surprises? Are you interested in doing this again in the future?

Primus - Frizzle Fry

like you can do a retarded chicken dance to the whole thing and it will make sense

primus sucks

9/10

I had a blast reading everybody's posts and listening to their music!
this really got me to just sit down and enjoy some albums. I ended up unusually busy & had a hard time finding an hour to just listen and enjoy an album but it was really nice to have some extra motivation to go and do that.
super fun, would love to do this another month!!

My last album is Slow Burning Lights by Blue Sky Black Death. BSBD is up in one of my favourite artists & it's a nice way to end the month. This album is real chill. All my friends have a soft spot for BSBD & I feel it's like the perfect intro to trip-hop. Vocals are provided by Yes Alexander while BSBD makes the sick instrumentals. Some of the tracks I'd rather just have the instrumental for but overall it's a good album.
8/10

my chart

my month highlight, amazing album imo

i'd definitely be down to doing this again, and i liked the secret santa idea a ton

i don't think we'll be able to do it for every day in december at this point, it's too late for that. we could probably do one week or something though, or maybe even do the whole month of january

luke's top albums of november:
The Lyman Woodard Organization - Saturday Night Special
Nick Drake - Bryter Layter
Can - Tago Mago
Herbie c*** - Sextant

Daisuke Tanabe - Before I Forget
Clark - Empty The Bones Of You
Melvins - Bullhead
Thom Yorke - The Eraser
Zs - New Slaves
Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers - Moanin'

bolded are probably my favorite favorite ones

yay, maybe in january we can do the whole month again if people would participate again

again, totally for the idea of the secret santa thing. how exactly would we go about doing it, term?

I think we'll do it again some time but definitely not December, I think a lot of people are burned out on it as it is lol. I know Nix and I are gonna take maybe a few weeks to get to know our favorites from this month a little better. Maybe we could do another in January or February, but we'll see when those months are a little closer.

Secret Santa's definitely probably gonna happen, was just waiting for you to get on Skype so we can chat about the details silly goose

Well, here's my (mostly empty) finished calendar.

I could have reviewed the album I'm listening to, which I found a few days ago, but I forgot, and it's December now.

i would be super down to do album a day in march, but i think it'd be more like an album every other day for me

i agree with nixter, though, we should discuss any other ideas for events we could do as a group
