I've decided to quit on love....I honestly don't think I wanna get married anymore.

What? Why?

I trust you guys kinda like family, so....
well personally, it's really much of a childish reason, but it's really been bothering me. I've just been feeling kinda bummed about all these relationships around me, and I'm just here single and lonely and not with anyone. But I wanna be like before when I didn't wanna be in a relationship because I know that I'm too young and it just can't really become real right now. I have like a whole huge heartfelt story behind all this, so...not sure if I need to post it to you guys. I mean maybe.

i guess in the end you might stick with your 'decision' of not wanting to get married but, honestly i am pretty sure you'll change your mind

personally i spent most of my life thinking i'd be married by age 25 and actually almost did a while back
that is until i realized just how much time flies and that i'm already 20 and haven't done lots of stuff i'd like to do before i take on such a responsibility

now i'm thinking, f*** that. 30+. but yeah, don't be so sure. If relationships around you have you down (i've been there) try to learn from their apparent f*** so that you don't find yourself in their position later on. if you're smart about love, it is a beautiful thing.

I guess I'd like to sooner. But just seeing from some of the relationships I've seen, you are right. I've only seen a select few of couples who still stay together in a true committed relationship. That you aren't wrong about. I guess it's just a thing in high school?

the reason why most of the people here are telling you not to is because theyre trying to rationalize the fact that they cant get a girl and that they exclude themselves from most of the high school experience

i never said don't date in high school i just said that most high school relationships are just that, high school relationships. i know a lot of couples that split up after graduation because one person moved away and long distance relationships are hard to do (not impossible though, just tough)

What... It is'nt that high school relationships are "high school relationships" it's that they're just a relationship in general. That s*** happens in real life even after you're an adult. you grow up and change all the time regardless of how old you are. People may not move away for college, but things like jobs get in the way and make people move in some cases. Families don't get alone which causes tension. Thousands of tiny things have to go right together to have a successful relationship and the point of being young and dating in high school is the same as going to high school in general. It's to f*** learn how things work so later on when you're an adult things aren't completely foreign to you. When people say "high school relationships don't last" they're deluding themselves into thinking relationships once you're out of high school suddenly are easier to maintain and are so much different when really, they aren't. Hell, they're almost for sure HARDER to maintain. The difference is people get to a point where they over look the bad things for so long that it looks like more people are happy or have better foundations.
