While I understand the purpose I do not like the message. I mean one of the concepts that appealed to me was that I could make my own character and if I tried hard enough it could be official and I'd be allowed to play it online with my friends back home, or at all because playing on one computer is annoying. I understand that that hasn't necessarily changed but the message is that it is more exclusive.

The sad part is not that the individual completed expansions are dead seeing as I was really only interested in Frieza, maybe Hitsugaya. The sad part is that a pipeline has closed.

I sincerely hope that user generated content will be encouraged in the final release. The crap will be weeded out by it's existence as crap so there should be no worry there. Without this simple aspect a perfect game dies and all that remains is one amazing game and this player searching for a mod.

Forgive me if I have misunderstood, but as of now I hope that this game becomes wildly popular if only that someone will mod it and it can be all that it should.

We're not canceling the expansions system.
We're not making all of the expansions.
We're not deconfirming unofficial expansions.
We're not telling you to stop making expansions.
We're not telling you your expansions aren't going to be codeable/playable or anything like that.

Literally all this is saying is that MG will not be supporting/affiliating with the expansions forums anymore and it will be treated as a fan's forum again, like before.

We have not announced how we plan to do expansions and we have not announced anything about expansions, but we would like some form of quality control when we do get around to adding them to the game and begin officially supporting them. We would like people to be able to take under consideration that an expansion being sprited is only 1/3 done. The tools you need to make your expansion playable are not public yet. That's another 1/3. The last 1/3 is that your expansion will probably (keyword probably as this is just speculation on my part) need some form of approval, to ensure that it meets certain criteria, balance, and quality standards, in order to be considered "done".

This probably should have been done long ago. The expansion forums were created before we even had an idea on how expansions would work and that's not okay. And running them separately from MG was also a bad idea. We're just cleaning up, is all. You're still free to continue doing what you were doing before. Expansions are not gone.

the forums aren't being shut down and we're not saying expansions aren't happening. we're just making it official that those forums have nothing to do with us and we won't interfere with anything that happens over there, nor will we condone or praise its contents.

Nice to know the ideas not dropped but judging from the EF they might be going off to do their own thing. So then where would someone like me who only care for the expansions(and recently came back to update his expansions) continue to work on these?

If that was the case from the start then why even create an "official" one.

At this point all I am reading is that all of the work that has been done for the past 7 years is now basically useless, considering that the way they have been done for these years isn't even the right way to do it.

The community there is a lot better than it is here. But it is my personal opinion.

Nothing. Just the fact that the expansion forums are no longer official. It's not like expansions are deconfirmed or anything.
