Reverse subscriptions

Is there a way to permanently mark a thread as read
because there's all these threads I don't give a s*** about in sections that I read
and it would be nice to know when there's new posts without first having to click through every thread

there's no feature for it right now but a mod probably exists

because phpBB3 has awesome mod functionality

Yeah no, sorry guys but this is just another one of those features that I'm not going to build myself and doesn't currently exist.
