D= I wish my school had that. "Okay class, put your heads on the desk. I'm going to play some Mozart now." That's pretty much free time.

It is not only Mozart they play. Edward Elgar is great. I'd love that school.

It's probably more the notion that deters them rather than actual experience with the music. Because it is so uncool, guys.

I agree, but I was not putting forth my opinion.

Parents should encourage their kids to pick up an instrument of some sort and play music they like instead of force-feeding Mozart. Learning an instrument seems to do a lot more good than just sitting there and listening to it.

I regret dropping the violin really but the reason for dropping is due to the effort required to actually be any good. I bet kids these days don't have an attention span as good as mine (which is still rather short).

Having a musical backgroud is great and helps you think, but I never thought that just listening to music would make you better.Music works in strange ways doesn't it.

This is why I sing. I've tried to play some instruments, but it ended really bad (we just performed Mozart's Requiem on Saturday, with a professional orchestra and other high profile high school choirs. It was aweesome).
