The "cold" in "cold steel" is just sugary frosting. Iron, on its own, is a terrible material for a sword. It's way too malleable. You need to dope it with some carbon, enough to get some hardness but not too much that it becomes brittle. And I'm not even talking about forging techniques.

No... thats for the swords which we put glitter and those flimsy plastic things, and sell em for a couple thousand TO the ignorant. The real-gold swords remain for the "harder to convince" that it will work in battle. :wee:

Well actually, if it was a steel sword with gold plate really thin gold plates on it, it'd look cool and be useful to boot.

I swear, this discussion isn't on topic...

Did they have titanium back then? That sounds like a pretty durable metal, but I'm almost certain that it's not discovered yet.

Also-Pure golden swords ARE deadly. You can blind someone of give them elliptical seizure!

I don't think so, and one wants a super metal, why not add Damascus steel or something...

Mythril is the best metal to use for a sword. It's more durable, and lighter, than steel. The only problem is that it's fantastical. But who cares!?

Might was well wear well-polished full plate and hide yourself with a cloak. Once the enemy comes close enough, reveal your armour, the glare should blind them long enough for you to cut them down.

Damascus steel is a result of a forging technique. I believe it had something to do with water and doping.

Mithril was called Truesilver, as in, really really shiny silver.

Not a body slam? The weight of the armor should crush the poor SOB.

I think its spelled "Mithril", or something similar, because for some reason, after playing Runescape (OMG EWW) I remember the "y" replaced by an I.

I think Mythril sounds better.

And this is why this RP will never take flight...

Zesper does have a point. This discussion is both worthless and immature. I would ask that you not post in this topic unless you wish to join the RP or have a suggestion.

Did another Egg die?
I think perhaps weapon types? A slashing balde, or a crushing weapon?
Skill generally only goes to weapon with the same attack movement. Specialize only in a slash, stab, crush, throw, or bow weapon.
Or more if you train up. Btw, you should update that other RP discussion topic.
