i understand what AEM is saying because i have cousins, sisters and freinds who literally broke their DS' hinge and practically had to buy new ones or use tape or some s#%$& to keep it from going full retard on them.
Exactly.

So don't buy it if you already have a 3DS or if you think it looks stupid, it's just the cheaper alternative.

EDIT: Also

well that would work...although the design looks terrible

and my sister's 3DS got wet and isn't working properly, any tips on how to fix it?
or should I get a new one?
Probably should send it in to Nintendo, but I doubt that they could do anything to fix it.
I hope she didn't get anything off of the eShop.

I cringed when I saw it, but then I thought about how my 7 year old sister has been wanting a 3DS. She doesn't need the 3d anyway and its cheaper so uh.
Yeah.
Neat.

But wait. Does this mean they have to make new 2DS versions of all of the existing accessories?

Depending on the accessory, yes for obvious reasons.

That's kinda upsetting, but eh. I guess my sister won't play Uprising.

Kid Icarus is completely enjoyable without that pro extension for the second analog stick.

“The most notable difference between units isn't really the lack of 3D graphics but the form factor. While it may appear ungainly and certainly doesn't fit in a pants pocket, it felt good in my hands. The circle pad, d-pad and face buttons were all easily accessible,” the article states. “Their placement on both sides of the upper screen directs one's focus more squarely on the upper screen, creating a little bit of the feeling of playing a game on a Wii U GamePad or original Game Boy Advance.” s***

he was talking about the stand that Uprising comes with, it won't fit the 2DS.

So hate to break up the 2DS talk, but I've got a question. I was thinking of upgrading to an XL, would I be able to transfer all my eshop games and other data?

There's a Nintendo-offered step by step on how to transfer your downloads from one 3DS to another. Plus, they both use those memory sticks you use in digital cameras, so.

Are you left-handed? I can use both and tried the lefty controls with the face buttons and found it awkward.

I'm a lefty, I just use my right thumb instead of the stylus.

yes i'm pretty sure you can as long as you have a SD card or a club nintendo account. also it would be best to ask them if you can use the data transfer in the 3DS before selling your old one if you are going too just in case you want like your street pass stuff and things that were built in.

Edit: i also think there is some software you can download from the e-shop to transfer data to your SD card

This is probably low on the list of complaints about Nintendo 2DS, but wasn't there some ridiculous game with some ridiculous puzzle that involved closing the DS? How would that work on a 2DS?
