Also SAT.

High School Junior year sucks academic wise because tests are everywhere.

I've actually taken my PSATs two times already and have to take it again this year. The first time I took it was in 7th grade and did fairly well. Second time in 8th grade, but didn't do as good. Now I will be taking it again Sophomore year in AP Statistics. I'm kinda nervous about taking it again.

lol what. I took it last year for my first time as a Sophomore. I should be more stressed out about it this year since the scholarship is up for grabs.

BTW, any SAT tips?

Well I'm not really sure. You live somewhere different, so the things you may be tested on might be different. Remember though to not answer all the questions on it that you don't know. I heard yesterday that they don't count it against you if you don't answer a question. I just found that out. No one told me before, or I might've forgotten. My PSATs though were pretty easy. Many standard questions and stuff. Please do your best to study well for it. You know, college credits, scholarship programs, stuff. I recently got an e-mail from a scholarship program last month that helps intelligent kids like me get into great colleges, so I'm looking into that. Very proud of that accomplishment.

Don't listen to this. They won't count off for questions you leave blank, but if you omit a lot of questions, you're not going to get a very good score. That's coming from someone who's taken it before. And if you go into the SAT with the mentality that it'll be as easy as the PSAT, you're gonna be in a world of trouble when you take the real assessment.

Ugh English is my problem, not Math. I get horrendous scores on the Writing and Reading Comp sections.

wow really? that's normally what people are better at from what i've seen
although i admit that writing was annoying because i always had problems figuring out how to start
there are techniques that make writing a LOT easier, but the reading comprehension part is more of a critical thinking type of thing
you kinda have to develop that skill over time by challenging yourself often, maybe by reading higher level books or something
or expanding your vocabulary

I stopped reading seriously a couple years back, so my comprehension went down drastically. The vocab's damn hard, too. I've heard of remember root words and prefixes rather than actual words, but I don't know how much that will help me. I'm taking the online course, so hopefully that can help.

actually that root word/prefix thing isnt a bad idea
for example if i see the word international, and i dont know wtf it means, id break it down

"ok so inter means 'between' i know that alright woo"
"national has got to mean 'in relation to a nation' (heh that rhymes)"
"wow so international must mean 'between nations'!!!"

many words share root words. so if you know some root words, you might know some words that use them
so like, if you know inter, you could probably guess what international, internet, intertwined, and interface mean
anyway you should read more books. they dont necessarily have to be hard books you know
like, books that make me laugh are what i read most tbh, and i always ace any reading comprehension tests i take

well, thats just my two cents. hope everything goes well with your online classes, good luck friend :>

It's quite funny to see people so worried about standardized federal testing. Most students in the united states never have to deal with entrance exams.

Oh gosh, I loved doing the writing and English portions of the PSATs. Math was kinda ok.
