If we get a newcomer from Nintendo that has never been playable in Smash outside of Andy or Lip, I would love to see Ray MK III or Takamaru make the cut.

Wait... What? Scorpion is the face of Mortal Kombat. He's literally the logo for Netherrealm, has been the main character of an MK game before, is arguably the most iconic character in the series (who doesn't know "Get Over Here!"), and is basically featured in every form of s****. It would illogical not to include him, and I don't see why the devs. would ever could choosing Lui-Kang (a lot of the MK fan base don't even like the character).

Also, the devs. could always implement the ex-meter system or combo breakers from Mortal Kombat.

On the subject of Pokemon characters who will make it in, here are some good candidates...

Mewtwo: I mean, come on dudes and dudettes, do I really need to go into detail on why the Devs need to include Mewtwo?

Lucario: So we can all have those epic "Lucario Vs. Mewtwo" battles.

Zoroark: At one point, I would say that he would have been one of the odds on favorite to get the Pokemon Newcomer spot and at one point, people wanted him in SSB4. However, his popularity died down real quick. Am I saying that the Devs are not gonna put him in? Not at all. Remember, Cleod and the Devs changed the roster from January 2010 (I think) until March 2013 so that left them plenty of time to reserve slots for characters we love. Sorry, back on subject, if Zoroark makes it in, he would add something new to the table.

Meowth: One of Pokemon's most recognizable characters and the mascot of Team Rocket. This character has never been playable in Smash and has been deserving for many years. Not to mention that Silph Co. is a stage in the game, which could be a hint that Meowth will make an appearance in some capacity. Whether it will be a Poke Ball or a Playable Character remains to be seen...

Sceptile: When I got on various websites, he is always requested for Smash. Not to mention that he is in Pokken Tournament. If Sceptile makes it into SSF2, then he would add something new to the table.

The Assist Trophies I speculate/hope to be promoted from the official Smash games from ATs to playable in SSF2 are:

More likely because it seems like they keep trying to position Lucario as Pokémon's other mascot.

It seems to be headed that way. Lucario and Mewtwo will probably be the last two reps for Pokemon as it shouldn't be overcrowded with more than a few characters per series.

Mario is an exception because you have the Big Four (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser) and you have the other characters who are from their own franchises but are in that same universe (Donkey Kong, Wario, Yoshi, etc.).

In my opinion, each franchise should get no more than 5 characters per series.

Try to come up with 5 characters from Game & Watch or Chibi Robo.
