Up until recently, there have been three tournament series(es? dunno the plural): Smash Island, Hypest, and the X Tournament Series; and they lived in perfect (or almost perfect) harmony, with room to spare for individual events. Recently there have been a really huge influx of tournament "series(es? don't judge me)", including but not limited to:

• Flashfest
• Flash Royale
• 7 Swords (even though it's been around for a while)
• Smashverse
• Flashathon

Plus the "big three".

If this is going to be successful, there is probably going to be a lot of debate and organization. Here below is a constantly updated list of what series is going to be on. (Note the format for timestamps is PST [EST].) This list is based on any given month.

• X Tournament Series - Last Saturday, 12pm [3pm]
• Hypest SSF2 - Every Saturday, 4pm [7pm]
• Smash Island - I don't know. Dark Ermac is pretty random about when to put these events, but most of them are on the second to last Saturday. All Smash Islands are at 10pm [1pm]. (Speaking of Smash Island, remind me to query Dark Ermac about the X Summer Bash.)
• Flashfest - No day given.
• Flash Royale - No day given.
• 7 Swords - First Friday, 3pm [6pm]
• Smashverse - No day given.
• Flashathon - No day given.

And the Hypest events are so late anyway the the Saturdays are basically free.

hypest events aren't run as well as X or SI tournaments anyway (just my opinion)
I'd suggest that if anyone is starting a series, it better be up to quality standard in order for it to continue...

And of course, they are all series...

hypest is bad for eu players since it usually starts at like midnight every time
it's cool that they run a tourney but they don't communicate with the community or organise stuff with other TOs

and yeah I agree that X and SI are better run than hypest

also I think more TOs need to be getting assistant TOs to help out, especially if they're entering themselves in their own bracket.

Eh, Smash Island didn't just sprout up overnight. The first tour was in November 2013 and got only ~9 players. I think it became successful simply because it was the first series, and one of the largest tournaments (at the time) to actually finish.

As for the above, Doq and I typically TO together, so it's no problem for us.
