It's time for a one big wall of text where I will explain my speculations for closest and for farthest versions of SSF2. I'll try to keep the whole thing as professional as possible, so if anything close to 'wishlist' or suggestions will appear, it will be wrote in italic, in case you guys are only interested in predictions and not in my wacky ideas. Most of the speculations are also regarding series I'm not that big fan of and I had to do extra research before writing all of this. If I will mention any leaks or things that shouldn't appear in this forum, please DM me and I'll remove those as quickly as possible.

Also note that these are not Beta predictions, they are mostly for full version/expansions if any will appear. All I can predict/say about upcoming beta versions is what is already well known and boring: Final Smashes returning in the update when they will finally get fixed, Venus Lighthouse stage ( will be a starter stage ), Peril Roulette and balancing of Classic Mode, bringing back Silph Co. and Skyloft if Devs might make them work the beta without extra lag/AI suiciding all the time, adding Galaxy hazards to Galaxy Tours etc. etc. I also predict that they will give Crazy Hand variation of Master Hands' moveset instead of being exactly the same. Also it will become a part of Classic Mode instead of Event 51 only

Main future predictions

Stage Predictions

  • We will definitely get at least one new Kirby stage in the full version. Kirby series has 3 playable characters total, while we only currently have 2 stages... one of which is a returning stage. With Meta Knight already being in we could technically get a Halberd, either the version from Brawl, or somewhat changed version based of Super Star version, but I don't think this stage has most potential or chances to get in. I don't believe neither Dream Land from 3DS or Great Cave Offensive have much chances in SSF2 tbh. Fountain of Dreams could be another returning stage that could be in SSF2, since it's pretty simple in design, but beautiful in aesthetic. However the most likely stage for Kirby series would be a completly new one. Back in Ya Dad's stream several unused stages got leaked, one of them included Butter Building, which according to former developer RoyMaster4, that stage would've been a vertically scrolling level in the vein of Melee's Icicle Mountain and Brawl's Rumble Falls. Since all SSF2 scrolling stages got removed in Beta, I imagine it could be revamped and added later. The Butter Building itself is rather well known, and there would no problem finding tracks for it. However if there's a location that I really hope will get showcased in SSF2 as a new stage I hope it will be Galactic Nova/Star Dream from Kirby Super Star/Super Ultra Star/Planet Robobot. It's one of the most iconic 'levels' in Kirby being one huge comet made out random pieces of machinery, looking kinda' cute, but also sinister and it has a lot of potential for stage hazards, how stage would be layered like (whatever it would be on Nova, with Nova in the background or inside Nova itself) and it has a lot of potential music that could play on it (Like vs. Marx's theme original or from Smash, Galactic Nova's theme or Vs. Stardream/P-R-O-G-R-A-M

  • Stage for One Piece. Luffy currently occupies Gangplank Galleon stage. While this is pretty cool, he really should get his own stage. The most obvious ones would be another ship. - Either Going Merry or Thousand Sunny. The gimmick of them could be in Going Merry's case flying through cloud and in Thousand Sunny, swimming and diving underwater with physics similar to Steel Diver stage. That being said, it's understandable if one ship stage is enough. For something more obscure I present you Zou/Zounisha as a home stage One Piece. While appearing mostly in one arc, this location... or should I say animal is an amazing concept. Zunisha is basically a giant elephant with an island on it's back, travelling through the New World. The Zou itself has really varied an interesting design and architecture and could be great as a stage. You could either make the front of Zunisha a stage (with the trunk being a hazard once in a while), it could be somewhere on Zou with stage hazard being "the eruption rain" once every 40 seconds. The tracks just like with other anime stages could be based of their openings, like We Are!, Wake up! or Fight Together. It could be a pretty cool and unique stage for cool and unique franchise.

  • Kid Icarus stage. Much like Luffy, Pit doesn't have a homeworld stage yet. The pretty obvious one would be Skyworld for many reasons. For one, it's been in every Smash game since it's debut and secondly, it probably had the most leaks out of SSF2 stages. That being said, I do think the reason why this stage wasn't added in beta is because we might get something better. While I doubt Palutena's Temple will get in (unless it's closer to the Ω Form). We could get a stage based of Underworld from original Kid Icarus looking like this or like this (the latter is from free recreation of original Kid Icarus), with horizontal borders like in PAC-Maze and vertically scrolling (potentially?). However, I doubt most people will be happy with that stage, so instead I propose a stage taken from Kid Icarus Uprising - either Reaper Fortress or Overworld/Final Battleground. In Reaper Fortress layout could look like this similarly to Garudo Valley/Gaur Plain with a space in the middle. Since it would be themed after Reapers I imagine some of them appearing as a hazard and remix/arrange of their theme being one of the tracks in the stage. Final Battleground can sound dumb being a mix between Battleground and Final Destination, but if anyone remembers Uprising, it was where the final boss battle happens. The scenery porn for that stage could be done easily enough with pixel art I think and the stage could be simple, yet pretty epic. Actually the more I think about it almost any Uprising locations could be converted into Smash stage, we could even get Cave of Spirits since Refurin is so good at spriting crystals. Oh and if you think there wouldn't be any good tracks that could be arranged for either of those stages, YOU ARE INCREDIBLY SUPER WRONG.

  • Whereabouts of Ice Climbers stage, Distant Planet and Shadow Moses Island. Ice Climbers being the last of stages leaked together with Lake of Rage for the build certainly raises an eyebrow. Does it mean Ice Climbers themselves will be added? Well I do believe they might not and the stage itself is either a throwback to their stage from Melee or something new also based of their original game - "Ice Climbers". I really doubt we will get Ice Climbers themselves because it would be a programming mess (Both SSF2 AI isn't the best AI out there, constantly jumping off the edge if baited and if 3DS version of Smash 4 had issues with Ice Climbers, probably Adobe Flash will as well), but I'd be happy if this is one of the predictions I'm wrong about since I've always loved Ice Climbers in Smash, no matter how broken chain-grabbing was. On the subject of lately removed stages, they also might be related to brawlers that debuted with them. I don't think Distant Planet will be back, but it might get replaced by Garden of Hope, simply because I do feel Garden of Hope is a much better stage. Shadow Moses Island is unlikely to come back unless Solid Snake will be in final version as unlockable fighter - so I'm really not sure. With Shadow Moses Island there's also the issue of it having so many bugs and problems with breakeable walls... so yeah I really think it's not likely. Sorry Metal Gear fans, me included.

  • Unlockable Mario stage based on a spin off. Sure Mario series does get a lot of recognition it deserves, with 4 playable characters (6 if you count DK and Yoshi) and 6 stages (not counting Galaxy tours extra stages and Metal Cavern), however I do have a feeling that there will be at least one Mario stage in the final version build, presumably unlockable. The obvious answer would be Luigi's Mansion, going with a theme of most characters having their own "home home stage" (Bowser has Bowser's Castle, Peach has Peach's Castle). However I do believe there's a major Mario spin-off that isn't only popular, but it has potential for an awesome stage and it got +10 games. Which game series I'm talking about? Mario Party of course! Just imagine a stage or should I say 'a board' like that in SSF2! It could either be based of a specific board like this one or it could be it's own thingy taking inspirations from a lot of Mario Party boards and minigames. Without hazards it could be a simple stage with pretty much any size dev might want. With hazards turn on, it could have: Dice blocks giving you random weapons and items when hit, spaces that could increase your % if you would step on them or any gimmick from several of Mario Party minigames. The tracks from that stage could either be a medley of Mario Party title screens, minigame instructions or be of a few medley minigame themes. It also doesn't help that back in Smash for WiiU Nintendo thought about exact same thing but they missed a mark with that

  • Unlockable Auto Scrolling Metroid stage based of Tourian/Final Battle Site of the original Metroid. Event 40 in SSF2 Beta gives us this tiny loveable stage with Mother Brain. It's possible this stage was just made for that single event, what would be awesome, but I do think this might be a hint that something bigger will appear in the future. With auto scrolling/changing stages like Skyloft and Silph Co. coming back, I do believe we might get a stage like that for Metroid as well. Starting with this screen, but bigger and going deeper and deeper until we reach the final strech. If such stage would happen either using an arranged version of Fight with Mother Brain could work (not the one i've linked, it's just an example) or using already arranged by Chern Lower Norfair since it does feel pretty finalish. That is unless the devs would decide to get rid off auto scrolling stages at all, since scrolling stages do have a bad reputation.

  • We will get one more 4th party stage with unlock method involving all 4 anime fighters, possibly home stage to Bleach. With Naruto series getting Final Valley
and Dragon Ball getting World Tournament, I've seen people wonder why Bleach didn't get one? Is it because there are no locations to choose from? Well, there are still places and locations one could pick for a stage like Soul King Palace, Valley of Screams or just Hell. Either we will get one of the mentioned ones or... there's another anime/4th party franchise that will that wasn't represented before and it might get a chance now, but not as a fighter. I imagine to make the stage worth unlocking the process and method would be rather complex. Either play a lot of all 4 Shonen fighters or clear classic mode with all 4 of them.

Character Predictions

  • There probably will be one unlockable Earthbound character in the full version. This is kind of the opposite situation to Kirby's franchise. Mother/Earthbound series currently has over 3 stages, only 1 one of the being a past stage. Fourside showcasing more of a friendly side of the series, Saturn Village includes the weird part of the franchise and Devil's Machine... is just an Itoi's nightmare. Yet we only have Ness as a fighter? Yeah, something isn't right. I mean it's not like Earthbound series doesn't have enough characters or it's not that popular (success of Undertale, game heavily inspired by Earthbound says otherwise). While all of these stages seem to be based of Mother 2/Earthbound so far, it would be cool seeing Lucas again, although the main issue would be having another semi clone in the roster. So who else from Mother 3 could work? Well, it's not like there's any other character who uses powerful PSI spells and isn't Masked Man, right? Oh wait, there's Kumatora! And while she could share a lot of B moves with Ness, she could easily use PK Ground as Down B or Final Smash and moves like Paralysis or Brainshock could be used by her in some way. She's also an action girl. However if we stick to Earthbound, what seems likely we could have Poo/Paula or Jeff. With Poo and Paula we would probably get a variation of Ness, but with Jeff (who also appeared in Brawl as an assist trophy) we would have more of a tactical character, setting up bottle rockets and using pop and stun guns/rays, but not much there either. So who we have left? Antagonists. Technically, Porky Minch could work, in either of his Final Boss design forms from Earthbound/Mother 3 or his design could be slightly modified as seen here and here. He could work in a way that certain other, but less good fangame did it, but with more polish. If there however would be a character that I would like to see more than any other from Earthbound, that would be Giygas. And yes, I know what you are thinking, isn't Giygas technically on the Devil's Machine? Yes, but I was thinking about his design from Mother 1/Earthbound Beginnings, when he was also known as Giegue. It also just so happens that Giygas from Mother 1 also has pretty similar look to Mewtwo (Ape Inc. who later went out to make Pokemon and became Creatures Inc., worked on Mother 1). His attacks and gameplay could be so much interesting. Either based of a lot of moves from enemies in Mother franchise or having his own moves inspired by his Earthbound wounded form. I mean it's not like you can argue it would be too much of Nightmare Fuel now, can you?

  • Pokemon getting third fighter in final version, possibly unlockable. Pokemon franchise is pretty notorious for having lots and lots of characters in Smash, while we are still stuck with 64 roster. That's pretty undertstandable though, since all of the characters in beta will be starter characters in full version. So who could be another Pokemon fighter? Well with stage like Lake of Rage appearing, we could possibly get a gen 2 pokemon, and no, I don't mean Pichu. Not only Pichu is already an assist trophy, I also doubt it could work, unless devs would really fix the big problems with them in Melee. Possible choice could be Suicune, because of their rise in popularity in Pokken/they have their own game version and I doubt it would be that hard to make a moveset for them out of Pokken/already existing Pokemon moves. However the more obvious choice would be the newest/most popular generation there is currently. With the rise of Pokemon Sun/Moon as well as Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon, there have been 2 pretty popular choices often requested for Smash, that being Mimikyu and Decideueye. Mimikyu has a lot of potential as a character, being slow, but a powerful type, that becomes 'busted' if gets hit too much and a lot of varied moves like Charm/Never-Ending Nightmare and so forth. Despite Jigglypuff being Fairy type as well, she barely uses any of her fairy type moves and that's understandable, Mimikyu could also be another character with strong land presence, but terrible at aerial fights. Decideuye being more ranged based fighter with moves like Spirit Shackles/Sinister Arrow Raid for Final Smash and a variety of flying/grass/ghost moves to cover up their moveset. Besides it would be cool, having sniper like fighter, unless you don't like projectiles.

  • While I will wait with predictions regarding all the veterans till this E3/next Nintendo directs (for reasons), there's one sorta' veteran I remember thinking back in v.0.7. would never get in the SSF2 again. Now I think the exact opposite. Cloud Strife will most likely be unlockable character in final version. The reasons why I feel that is simply because of his overpresence, both as Smash 4 dlc character, being pretty unique for a dude with a sword, being unlockable in SSF1 (not an important factor, just throwing it here), being pretty famous from that one little game and also getting a remake of that one little game in 2089. Other than that, it would be simply cool and I doubt there would be trouble of bringing his version from SSb4 to SSF2 since the same thing happened with PAC-man (I kind of wish they would make them both a bit more original tho). Also a lot of MCloudGaming memes would rise.

Any kind of Representation Predictions (Both stages, assist trophies and alike)

  • Nintendo Wars series will most likely get represented in the final version. If you don't know, originally Wars series was meant to be a sister franchise to Fire Emblem... look how that turned out. It's Military themed Turn-based Strategy series with total of 11 games, and an assist trophy in Brawl/Smash 4. While it is not hugely popular franchise, it has its fans, especially on Gameboy Advance era where the Advance Wars started their debut, not only that, games such as 'Advance Wars: Dual Strike' were met with universal acclaim. If there's any Nintendo franchise that feels left out in official Smash/SSF2 that would Nintendo Wars and it's a shame, because that series has a lot of personality. I remember back in the days of v0.8. seeing Advance Wars themed stage on McLeodGaming Wiki (I think it was named Wars HQ) and I always wondering whatever it was actually a real leak with a picture or someone playing games - the page is now deleted of course. [i]If it was a real leak/some dev being carefree, I think it either got remade into a different stage (It had a similar layout to Lake of Rage, I think) or we're about to get Advance Wars-themed stage with Infantry & Tanks from original Assist Trophy as original hazards. That being said, having a fighter from that series wouldn't hurt as well. Either Andy or Sami could work (Andy being pretty much the most recognizeable character in the franchise and kind of the opposite of Marth from Fire Emblem and Sami being second close in popularity, also appearing in Project M and being a female and we need more females). The interesting thing about this is that there's lots of things devs could do. Either make Andy/Sami fighting alone with movesets similar to Solid Snake's or keep them in a tank! Yeah, that would be pretty cool, since tanks in Advance Wars are known to be rather small (or at least the size of a Bowser) and it would be cool having another large/heavy character without being a villain. It doesn't help the series had a lot of units and special powers that could inspire a lot of potential movesets. Oh and have I mentioned the series also has a very good music?

  • Splatoon will get represented in some way or another in final version. As much as I don't want to say this, It's pretty much a matter of time till next official Smash Bros. game will feature Splatoon in any form of way. This franchise has skyrocketed ever since it got released 2 years ago. With fanart and remixes jumping up everywhere, being the reason while a lot of people bought WiiU in the first place, getting costumes in Smash 4 and already getting a sequel in 12 days from now on, you can imagine it's a pretty popular game/series with a lot of potential perfect for SSF2. You need a stage? Just any of these will do - though I am a personal fan of Urchin Underpass. You need an assist trophy? We have Callie & Marie/Squid Sisters that could work just like Amigo did before it got removed. You need items? Is 111 of the enough? And most importantly, you need another fighter? Inkling Girl is a pretty popular, because of the design, fighter potential (Up B being Squid rocket, Side B being Charger/Roller, using Burst Bombs/Splat Bombs as Neutral B, having squid transformations/other weapons as other attacks, as well having either Inkstrike/Kraken or Killer Wail as Final Smash) and alt. palletes she could bring. Even her playstyle could be easily made into SSF2 with puddles of ink and such (If anyone remembers Orcane from Rivals of Aether/Vaporeon from SSL they have a similar mechanic). Whatever it will be, it will be fun seeing McLeodgaming doing something again before Nintendoes it. You know, like with Mega Man/Cloud?

  • Expanding upon Tales of series. While already in the game, it's not like people would hate seeing more from this franchise right? I mean said franchise was already in SSF1 (with unlocking Lloyd being pretty much the ultimate challenge). Since than Lloyd has appeared in every version of SSF2 The most obvious thing would be representing more than just Tales of Symphonia from the franchise, since there are other well received such as Tales of Abyss and alike. However if we will stay with Tales of Symphonia (aka the only tales of game I have any good knowledge of) there's a lot of potential there. Outside of Tower of Salvation, which has really quickly proved to be one of the most favorite stages in Smash community, there are other opportunities. The good contenders I could think of are Temple of Lightning, Ozette, Mizuho or also Katz Village/Katz Corner/Other places from Tales of series known for Katz. However other than more stages, there could be more to it than just that. While back before the reboot, Kratos was suggested as a character - I really doubt he has a chance of returning as a fighter. While Kratos is one of the main protagonists, but also antagonists and also is heavily related to Lloyd, I doubt he will be unique enough. While he is unique story wise, gameplay wise he's pretty much just another guy with a sword and little bit of magic included. You know what character from Symphonia would rock? Sheena Fujibayashi or just Sheena. Either as an assist trophy or as playable character, would be amazing since she actually was pretty much a second main character/protagonist of that game next to Lloyd. For people who don't know, Sheena specializes in seals and summons, making her playstyle really different compared to Lloyd's. She would be like a mixture of Greninja, Isaac and other fast, but strategic characters, she would be easy to sprite, having sprites from same game Lloyd does, plus we need more action girls in SSF2. I think even devs realize it because Sheena could've been assist trophy at one point (at least according the the data screw up on McLeodgaming Wiki). It's also not like making a moveset for her would be hard since she's a character with one of the biggest and most varied movesets in that game if I remember correctly. Also her theme 'Fatalize' is already in the SSF2 and arranged, so that's even better.

So what do YOU think? Do you think I might be entirely right or wrong? Feel free to discuss and what not, I'll try to update it with more after the E3 if any big announcements that could influence the development team would appear.

Feel free to critisize, I'm just going to wait and watch. :gameandwatch:
And devs, please at least try hiding your laughter if I got something super wrong, please.

You know, you didn't need to make a full thread for this.

You know, you didn't need to make a full reply for this that doesn't add anything. I don't really see how I could fit anything from here into different already existing threads, if you do, please enlighten me. I don't see character or representation thread on this subforum, anything even close is either one or this one. Problem with either of those is that this thread doesn't have suggestions (and if so they are minor and I've tried to keep them to minimum) and I'm not speculating movesets here. Outside of Splatoon's or Advance Wars' instance I didn't speculate any weapons so not this thread as well. Only Stage Speculation thread comes to my mind.

If walls of text and such are forbidden on this forum/or I've screwed something up, tell me. I might have experience with forums in the past, but this one certainly feels different and just because stand alone threads like these were allowed and tolerated on other forums, doesn't mean they are allowed here.

^ This thread it's "SSF2 Beta Speculation Thread"
Pretty much your wall of text could have gone perfectly in that thread instead of having to make a completely new one dedicated to your speculations and predictions.

This isn't speculation about Beta, though, is it.

Unless you count only the first few paragraphs, no, sadly.

I wanna feel like my thread is somewhere I belong

I know this is an old thread and junk, but for what it's worth, I think these are pretty good predictions.

Yeah, that's my bad. I forgot to check the date. (I do that a lot) (I edited the post after I realized that this was an old thread). I'll be more careful regarding the date of threads next time. I apologize for any inconvenience I caused.
