I'm planning to mod something after this game's over, but I want someone to help me with it. No, not All-Stars 2: I'm shelving that for next year.

This setup is probably going to be based off the Mind Screw series of games on MafiaScum. If you need a link, I'll provide one, but the general gist is that it's the most insanely bastard-mod setup ever. Of course, with fewer players I'd have to cut down on some of the crazier things like a character that can switch FoSes into votes and vice versa, but I want to run something really crazy.
The roles are based on characters from everywhere: from Ender's Game to The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya to Doctor Who to Starcraft to even Chairman Mao.

What I'm looking for is a person who's willing to help me run/create the setup: i.e. to help me control some of my crazier urges, and to take care of the day-to-day running of the setup if I can't make it. If you can help, shoot me a PM, thanks.

After having watched one of the best players in this community quit because of a bastard mod event, I think this kind of game is exactly what we don't need to make this community grow.

I mean, telling your players it's bastard mod helps a whole lot, but if you think it isn't productive, I think we should cut down on role madness, then. imo either do full role madness+bastard mod or don't use it at all.

In 13 hinting that it was bastard mod at least helped to explain some of the crazier things that I did(alignment changing, janitors, etc.), so it *could* work.

Just like in real life, telling someone you're going to be a dick to them doesn't make them enjoy it more when you do so. Honestly bastard games are even less *skill* and more *lucky night 1* then normal mafia games. The only bastard set-up I approve of is the everyone is town, most can kill somehow, and town wins when they figure out they were all town all along (and of course the mod acts like there is an outside threat).

Just because a game is bastard mod does not mean you try to screw over everyone and anyone at the first chance you get. It just means that anything out of the ordinary should be taken as normal, which includes crazy roles, a level of mod interference etc.

It comes down to your play. Don't despair; step up your game. Once people see that you better understand the game, they will be more willing to let you oversee a match.
