One of my favourite stages is Tower of Salvation because the memories of playing Tales of Symphonia.
Also, **I can delete this if a stage list has been created**, which stages should be legal in your opinion?
Rules:
There's one: Don't bash on other people's ideas.
Here are some stages that I think should be legal:
Lunar Core - In all honesty, I could see this working in Doubles. However I use this in singles without hazards and it's quite big. I personally like this stage a lot. There isn't a lot of disadvantaged characters on this stage.
Jungle Hijinx - Without hazards, this stage is like Castle Siege. If it's banned, I don't really see how it is and castle siege isn't, aside from a size difference. It's still bigger than WarioWare.
Continue.

Lunar Core: Banned in singles imo cuz its SOOOOO big, and planking underneath the stage is impossible to stop. If MK goes under here there is nothing you can do to make him stop.

I'm currently trying to push for a larger legal stage list, but the rest of the back room insists on keeping it small. So don't blame me.
Jungle Hijinx, for example, was banned because it was too similar to Castle Siege. And ToS was banned because it was too similar to Final Destination/3DS.
I get their reasoning (a larger list affects striking and banning), but I strongly disagree with it and instead think we need to overhaul the strike/ban system to accommodate more stages. Because face it; This. Isn't. Melee! We can't use the system that was designed for Melee here, because as I keep trying to point out, it turns things into a mess when there's too many good stages. Like... Did you know Smashville was almost banned due to being too similar to Pokémon Stadium 3? Smashville?!
We can have more than a single-digit number of stages if we want to. We just need to redo that overly-conservative relic of a system to fit our game.

I agree. The stage list is too small.

ToS shouldn't be considered as a FD/3DS clone. Those two platforms change EVERYTHING. Anyway , stages shouldn't be banned because they look familiar.
I don't want Clock Town to be legal tho , f*** this s***

I really really liked ToS on the stage list, the two platforms are godsends for some characters' recovery, and the flat stage w/o lag (3DS and FD still lag on some people's computers) is gr8.

With ToS gone youre stuck Lag Destination or you get stuck under the tiny-ass FD clone every 30 seconds. When ever we want a flat stage in IRC its almost always ToS

ToS is not FDS (an intentional portmanteau).
The reasoning for considering PS and SV to be very similar is that the one moving platform functions similarly to the two that Pokemon Stadium has: both of these stages serve as a middle ground between FD, 3DS, and ToS on the flat side, and BF, DL64, and YS. It isn't right, but it isn't insane either.
Here's the problem with Tower of Salvation: it's just too similar to FDS to be allowed, not because it is identical or close, but because the flat layout is so polarizing. You give Fox and other fast-fallers a serious disadvantage by putting it on the neutral list or even in counterpick, because it basically forces certain characters to always strike or ban it. Certain matchups like Marth v Fox, DK v Fox, or BM v DK become kind of ridiculous when you can guarantee a flat or near-flat stage in the first game, which is the most important, and on subsequent counterpicks.

ToS could easily be combined with FD/3DS Imo. The two side platforms only affect recovery and give some characters more options (Link's arrows say hi), but on stage everything else is the same.
EDIT: Idk if I was in the BR during that time (banning Samshville lol), but Smashville and PS3 are not similar at all.

Anyway, like I said, the point to a smaller stage list is as follows: it affects striking and banning. On the old list, if an opponent banned Castle Siege on winning a set, you can still pick Jungle Hijinx as if nothing happened, so the opponent is essentially forced to waste a stage ban.
If we can find a way around this, then we won't have a problem with a larger list. You want a larger list, I want a larger list, so can anyone possibly think of a solution to get around that issue?

I feel that the solution is to get rid of stages that are way too similar. Not Battlefield and Yoshi's Island similar, but even more similar.

Why get rid of them? Group them together like APEX did Smash 4. FD+FD-mode stages are striked together.
TOS should be separate though because the platforms affect mobility of certain characters like Tails and nerf projectiles in some cases.

Dont forget the solid walls that dont YOLO you to death
Personally I'd like to see ToS as a neutral and FD as a counterpick, and 3DS just freakin gone omg i hope FD doesnt lag all the time next version

If anything I'd rather have both of them as Counterpicks, but then it's not exactly fair to have no flat stages as Starters.
There's nothing wrong with 3DS though, just learn to sweetspot (which you should be doing in the first place).
